Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II
ガールズ&パンツァー:ドリームタンクマッチ II
|
File:ACLGuPDTM2 title.png is a tank-based vehicular combat game developed by Existence Software and based upon the Girls und Panzer multimedia franchise. The game is a sequel to the 2018 PlayStation 4 title Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match and it's 2019 enhanced port for the Nintendo Switch, and features additional content based on supplementary material of the franchise that may not be canon to the main timeline. The game's story is likewise non-canon to the main Girls und Panzer franchise, in part due to the ongoing release of the Girls und Panzer Das Finale film franchise during the development of the game.
Dream Tank Match II was developed for release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game are largely identical, and as such players can connect with users of either version when playing online. The Nintendo Switch version features several technical downgrades, though includes additional content to make up for this disparity. The Nintendo Switch release introduces a co-op mode where two players can work together to control a single tank (with one driving and the other shooting), as well as the ability to connect with nearby players via a local area network without needing to connect over the internet. amiibo are also supported on the Nintendo Switch version of the game, allowing the player to unlock exclusive costumes for certain characters.
As with the original Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, the sequel features stills and clips from the anime and film franchises, as well as new artwork produced by series creator Actas. The game also includes music originally composed for the Girls und Panzer anime and films, with the original opening and ending themes DreamRiser by ChouCho and Enter Enter MISSION! by Anglerfish Team being reused (with updated cinematics) in the same ways. Because of licensing regarding music, the game follows its predecessor by only releasing in Asian territories, but features a separate release that includes subtitles for English, Korean, and Traditional Chinese in addition to Japanese.
Introduction to Girls und Panzer
Girls und Panzer is a multimedia franchise based around the fictional martial art of Panzerfahren (戦車道; Way of the Tank)[1], a type of sport that revolves around girls using World War II-era tanks for mock military combat. The traditional art of Panzerfahren was designed exclusively for women with the intention of helping grow one's self-esteem and ability to cooperate with others. Panzerfahren is treated as a sporting event, with official matches moderated by the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, with the goal of many participants simply being to have fun and/or claim victory. Panzerfahren is seen by many to be the "sanitized" version of war, something which caused the rise of the more brutal Tankathalon sport that goes mostly unregulated. Tankathalon serves as the central subject of Girls Und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior.
Actas's original Girls und Panzer anime series broadcast October 2012 through December 2012, with the final two episodes airing in March 2013 due to production issues. This series focused on Miho Nishizumi who, after transferring into Ōarai Girls' Academy, was immediately forced to join the school's newly-revived Panzerfahren team by the student council. Though still plagued by doubts due to her causing her previous school's team to lose the finals of the previous national tournament, she decides to join after seeing her new friends Saori Takebe and Hana Isuzu stand up for her; something which never had happened at her old school. Though the reason for forcing Miho Nishizumi to join the team is initially unclear, it is later revealed that Ōarai Girls' Academy is set to be shut down unless their new team managed to win the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament - a task thought unlikely by all parties involved. The series was followed up with six original video animations, as well as an additional episode that depicted the events of the tournament's second round (which was skipped in the original series). The events of the original anime were adapted into a light novel and manga series, which respectively focused on Saori Takebe and Yukari Akiyama's perspectives of the series. In 2015 the anime series received a sequel film in the form of Girls und Panzer der Film. Following the events of the series, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology decides that the agreement previously formed to keep Ōarai Girls' Academy active was unofficial and thus the series is closed down. In a last bid to keep their school from closing, the student council president Anzu Kadotani makes an official deal with MEXT and the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation that, should they manage to beat the prestigious All-Stars University Team made up of hand-selected individuals of great skill, MEXT will reverse their decision. Takashi Ino released a manga adaption of the film entitled Girls und Panzer der Film Variante, which included supplementary additions not seen in the film. Girls und Panzer das Finale is the newest entry into the Girls und Panzer anime franchise. A series of six 40 minute-long films, Girls und Panzer das Finale focuses on Ōarai's Panzerfahren team as they participate in the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. Due to her not getting into a university, Momo Kawashima is instead forced to take the position of the team's commander in order to try and earn a scholarship in Panzerfahren, thus forcing the experienced Miho Nishizumi to take the role of vice commander. Making their work all the more difficult is the addition of Shark Team: five rebellious members of Ōarai's Naval Studies course who are working to repay a debt to Momo Kawashima - the only person they listen to. In addition to anime series, various original manga series have been released based within the Girls und Panzer universe. Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! focuses on the cast from the anime series in humourous settings, often exaggerating their characteristics as they engage in 'everyday' activities unrelated to Panzerfahren. In addition, there are several manga series that feature stories based on brand-new characters unseen within the anime and films (and thus are dubiously canon); such include the aforementioned Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior series written by Takeshi Nogami and Ryouichi Saitaniya's Girls und Panzer: The Fir Tree and the Iron-Winged Witch, which focus on the teams of Tatenashi High School and Count High School respectively. Further manga series include stories based around the canon of the series including prequel series Girls und Panzer: Little Army which focuses on a ten-year old Miho Nishizumi creating friendships around Panzerfahren for the first time; the midquel series Girls und Panzer: Fierce Fight! It's the Maginot Battle!, which depicts a practice match between Ōarai and Maginot Girls' Academy set prior to the Nationals depicted in the original anime; and sequel series Girls und Panzer: Little Army II, which focuses on two of Miho's friends from childhood as they build up the Panzerfahren team of Bellwall Academy in hopes of being able to reunite with Miho on the battlefield; however these are also of dubious canonicity. There also exist manga focusing around characters from other schools introduced in the anime series; such as Girls und Panzer: Saga of Pravda, Girls und Panzer: Phase Erika, Girls und Panzer: The Way of the Meal, and Girls und Panzer: Avanti! Anzio High School. Additionally, the Girls und Panzer franchise includes drama CDs, several video games (in addition to Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match) including the gacha-based mobile title Girls und Panzer: Great Tankery Operation!, and collaborations with the MMO game World of Tanks and a variety of other groups. |
The entirety of the Girls und Panzer franchise is managed by the "GIRLS und PANZER Projekt" - a division of Actas which also consists of separate groups when content from Der Film or Das Finale are concerned; these are aptly dubbed the "GIRLS und PANZER Film Projekt" and "GIRLS und PANZER Finale Projekt" respectively. Actas is currently a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Arts (and thus Bandai Namco Holdings), who produces and distributes the Girls und Panzer anime and CDs. The anime series are licensed to Sentai Filmworks for release outside of Japan in a variety of territories, who have also dubbed several of such in English.

Overview[]
Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II is a vehicle based combat game in which the player takes control of a tank. Players are forced to control tanks differently depending on the available weapon(s) or quirks that may have been built into the vehicles. As every tank is different, players are forced to choose which one would be most optimal to use in a situation. The player is able to form teams and command their allies in other tanks, though the player is only limited to directly controlling a single tank during a match. Players are given a chance to plan their formation or general movements prior to the beginning of the match, while commands may also be given mid-battle.
A new addition to the game is the ability to freely create teams that manage each tank with specific positions, and a greater emphasis is placed on this team building mechanic. Characters may demonstrate different familiarity levels with different tanks; by default each character is familiar with only one type of tank (typically the one they primarily use within the Girls und Panzer franchise), but characters will become more familiar with other tanks should the player choose to have them pilot another. As characters become more familiar with tanks, the tank will become easier to use (i.e. steering will become easier or loading rounds will be done at a faster rate). Additionally characters are not limited to playing only a single role within a tank, but will always perform best in a specific role no matter the tank they command. Each tank has a specific number of character slots that must be filled for the tank to be deployed in battle; CPU teams will often use generic nameless NPCs to round out their rosters in addition to a small pool of named students.
As with most official Panzerfahren matches regulated by the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, there are typically two types of matches that the player may participate in: Annihilation Matches where the player must defeat all tanks on the enemy team, and Capture the Flag Matches where the player must only eliminate the enemy's Flag Tank. Once a tank's HP is fully depleted it will be eliminated; something signified by a small white flag popping up out of the tank. Tanks do not disappear once defeated however and thus can be used as cover or to block exits, though defeated tanks can be pushed out of the way far easier than an active one can. In Annihilation Matches, the player will be able to control one of their allied tanks upon defeat. As with Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, the game also features Survival Matches, where one team must survive for a certain amount of time in order to claim victory while opponents bombard them with attacks.
In addition to traditional Panzerfahren battles, Dream Tank Match II features several new types of game modes based upon scenarios presented during the Cauldron Tournament depicted in the manga Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior. These include the following two types of matches:
- King of the Hill: A type of Annihilation Match where one team must protect a specified area for a specified amount of time while the other is trying to invade it. In Dream Tank Match II, the goal for the attackers is typically to have an active tank remain within the specified area for a certain amount of time (dictated by a countdown timer). Additionally, a team may win should they eliminate all of their opponents.
- Arrival Match: A type of Capture the Flag Match that pits a small team against a single opponent. The team wins should they defeat their enemy, while their opponent wins should they simply reach a specified area. Almost like a race, Arrival Matches act as smaller, and faster, King of the Hill matches. These previously appeared in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, where they went unnamed and instead described as "Arrive at the Destination". In that game they served as point-to-point races for the player to complete as enemy tanks try to hinder their progress., while in Dream Tank Match II the player may be the one trying to defeat CPU characters trying to reach a goal instead. Some Extra Missions force the player to pass through checkpoints before they are able to reach the goal, though otherwise players are able to take any path they wish to reach their destination.
Additionally, while matches traditionally only feature two teams facing off against each other, some missions may also allow more teams to be added into battle. Up to six teams can be in play at once, though with this amount all teams are limited to a maximum of four tanks.
Game Modes[]
In addition to featuring an overarching story mode, the game includes a Tournament Mode, as well as a general Exhibition Mode that can be played both online and offline. Only two game modes are available online, and some concessions are made for this purpose. The Nintendo Switch version of the game also allows up to four players to play all offline modes together (except Tournament Mode, which only supports two) through LAN connection.
Story Mode features a series of set missions, each with their own objectives. While most missions in story mode are based upon the basic game modes that can be played in Exhibition Mode, they may also feature additional objectives or limitations placed on the player. This is thus the most unique game mode. Additionally, the Story Mode features visual novel-esque cutscenes which at times may include clips taken from the Girls und Panzer anime series, Girls und Panzer Der Film, and the Girls und Panzer Das Finale film series. This game mode does not allow the player to freely choose between the entire cast as in other modes, instead limiting the player only to Ōarai Girls' Academy's Anglerfish Team at the beginning and more characters are unlocked as missions are completed.
In Tournament Mode, the player competes in a five-round tournament of predetermined matches. Tournament Mode begins with the player choosing a character, with each character being partnered with another; the player is unable to choose their partner, as they are predetermined. At the beginning of the tournament, the player begins with only two tanks - their player and their partner - though their roster increases as they assimilate those they defeat into their team. While the player's roster doubles with each match, only a maximum of 10 tanks can be used per team in each match; thus the player must choose only eight of their 30 teammates to bring into the final match - the player's chosen character can not be changed nor can the player opt to remove their assigned partner from battle, however. Tournament Mode features small, self-contained stories with each pair of characters having their own ending and pre-match conversations, both of which are depicted through visual novel-styled cutscenes. The teams the player fights against are randomly-determined as well. While the player's partner uses their default tank in matches, the player can choose from any tank (and crew members) that they have unlocked.
Returning from the preceding title are Extra Missions. In Extra Missions, the player is tasked with completing challenges with specific teams and tanks, often under strict time limits. Each challenge can be completed on three difficulties: Medium, Hard, and Extreme. These events are generally smaller in scope, while some instead aim to recreate events from within the Girls und Panzer universe. While most Extra Mission are simple challenges for the player to accomplish, a few handful are classified as "[STORY]" challenges, which feature dialogue between character both before and after the battle.
Domination Mode also returns from Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match. In Domination Mode, the player chooses one of the available schools and plays through a short scenario with them. Unlike Tournament Mode, the player can not freely choose any character or tank to control; instead, they are limited only to the school's overall commander and their default tank. The player must complete five consecutive battles, with the game modes and opponents being randomly determined prior to the battle; the player's opponents consist of members from only a single school, with each team featuring a maximum of five tanks. Unlike in the preceding title, the player may have be able to participate in one of these game modes multiple times throughout the five-battle knockout challenge: Flag Match, Annihilation Match, Survival Match, Arrival Match, King of the Hill, and 1-on-1. Due to Jatkosota High School and West Kureoji Grona Academy having a single tank, they are indicated in-game to be more challenging than the other schools.
Exhibition Matches allow the player to create smaller custom matches with any combination of teams and even fill out their roster with unnamed generic non-playable characters in order to create their Dream Tank Matches even should they not have enough characters unlocked. Exhibition Matches allow the player to choose which type of game mode they participate in: Capture the Flag Matches, Annihilation Matches, King of the Hill, or Arrival Matches; the limitations vary by each game mode, which are specified above. By default, Exhibition Matches always feature the same amount of tanks on each team. Between 1 and 12 tanks can be added to a team when two teams are competing against each other, while the maximum lowers to ten with four teams, six with five teams, and four with six teams. Players may also partake in one-on-one matches. While a difficulty level can be chosen when fighting against AI opponents that influences the decisions they make, their AI generally becomes more complex by default the fewer tanks they begin with. Online Exhibition Matches only feature Annihilation Matches that limit the amount of tanks to two teams of twelve tanks each.
Players may also compete in a Tank Race. A special kind of mode that does not appear in the game's Story Mode and can only be played in online multiplayer, the goal of a Tank Race is to pass through all of the rings placed around a map in order. Two teams of up to 3 tanks go through the same set of rings but do so in opposite orders; for instance, the start of one team's race will be the end of the other. Unlike other modes, defeated tanks will respawn after a short amount of time has passed.
Upon completing the game's Story Mode, the player is also able to compete in special Boss Battles. There are two boss characters that the player can engage with: a giant Boko[2] or Araippe. Both feature different attack patterns and defensive maneuvers that players must learn in order to defeat them. These bosses can only be fought by players, though their health will scale accordingly: in single-player play a boss will have less health, while it will have a greater amount should three other players join in through online play. Unlike in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match these bosses are treated as actual fights, as they will freely roam around the map and must be tracked down. Both bosses will also occasionally spawn small Boko enemies that can fire pink energy projectiles at tanks.
Boko is a stuffed teddy bear and the star of a multimedia franchise. Boko is a strong-willed teddy bear with incredible optimism, willing to throw himself into any fight to protect others despite never actually throwing a punch himself. In battle, Boko mainly just stumbles around, cheerfully frolicking around the battle arena. He doesn't actually "attack" per se, rather dealing damage through accidents. These accidents include trying to stomp down on opponents, tripping over himself and crushing anyone beneath him, and kicking the ground in dejection to send up rock projectiles or clouds of dust that obscure the arena. Once Boko sustains enough damage however, he will begin to attack tanks: Boko can fire pink energy bullets like a machine gun out of his eyes, or summon larger pink blasts that explode on contact as if they were tank shells. There are three different types of Boko bosses: while their designs are the main difference between them, the three Boko versions also differ in that they take different amounts of damage before they will actively try to harm tanks.
Araippe is the mascot used by Ōarai, Ibaraki, and thus the mascot for the town present on the school ship Zuikaku that is based off this city. Araippe is a giant being made of shirasu (whitebait) with a hamaguri clam for a mouth who was injured after a storm tossed him onto a beach. After being nursed back to health by a local fisherman, Araippe decides to assist his saviour by helping promote his hometown to tourists. The tentacles that make up Araippe's body can be used as limbs, and the monster tries to attack his foes by slamming them with these shirasu appendages capable of extending in length; this also applies to the monster's rake-shaped tail. In addition to long-ranged melee attacks, Araippe can use his tentacles as springs, propelling himself high into the air in order to flatten enemies or simply traverse long distances. Lastly, Araippe is capable of damaging enemies from afar by breathing out highly-pressurized streams of salt water, immobilizing tanks by drowning them; this has a high chance of destroying the treads of tanks hit by it. |
After completing the Story Mode, players also unlock the ability to view a customized performance of the "Anglerfish Dance" using any combination of up to six characters of their choice.
Extra Missions[]
All Extra Missions can be completed on three difficulties: Normal (🥉), Hard (🥈), and Extreme (🥇). Generally the difficulty of Extra Missions denote the intelligence level of CPU-controlled tanks, though some missions also alter the line-up of tanks on teams. Tanks marked with different medal icons only appear when the mission is played on the specified difficulty. Unlike in the previous game, where all Extra Missions were available by default and could be played in any order, the Extra Missions in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II are now unlocked in groups of ten by completing all ten previous missions on any one difficulty level. By completing a mission on all three difficulty levels, the player is able to play the mission on a fourth "difficulty level" that allows the player to use any character and tank combination they wish instead of being locked into the predetermined combinations of the mission.
In addition to the missions below, there are is also a tutorial that can only be played on Normal Difficulty that teaches the player the basic gameplay mechanics. This mission must be completed when the game is started up for the first time, and is listed at the top of the Extra Missions menu as "Extra 00" should the player wish to replay it at any time.

Commander Abilities[]
The player is able to use two special abilities in battle, which can only be done by filling up the "Action Gauge". The Action Gauge primarily fills up as tanks are spotted or the player is engaging in combat, though it also does so at a very slow rate simply over the course of the battle; the rate at which this gauge fills may differ depending on the ability as well. These commander abilities may not be unique to a single character, in fact many abilities can be used by multiple characters. Which ability can be used is dependant on who the player's tank commander is.W hile every character can use two commander abilities, only one of them is determined by the chosen character. The other is shared by all characters.
Each ability is categorized into three recharge rates:
- Fast Abilities, which take 45 seconds to recharge.
- Moderate Abilities, which take 60 seconds to recharge.
- Slow Abilities, which take 75 seconds to recharge.
Some Extra Missions and Story Missions may also give characters an additional ability that have no cooldown but instead only a limited amount of uses. These abilities are the following:
- Duck Balloon, which has the user inflate a large balloon of a duck head atop their vehicle. This prevents the user from being indicated and locked-onto, though a single shot will pop the balloon from either the user or enemies targeting them.
- Fire Extinguisher, which can be used to slowly recover a moderate amount of the user's health.
- Smokescreen, which releases a cloud of smoke that hides allies within and prevents them from being indicated to their enemy. This does work for both teams however.
|
Special Team Combinations[]
Having specific combinations of characters in a single grants the player a slight boost to all stat categories, and also gives the team a unique team name as opposed to using the commander's name as what happens by default. Characters who are part of these combinations also have unique dialogue with each other, as well as special victory poses performed at the end of matches. A character may only be part of one combination at a time.
These special combinations may be references to interactions between characters in-universe, or similarities based on the characters' designs or personalities. Combinations do not need to consist of all members in a tank, and thus multiple special combinations of characters may be paired up in one tank; in this instance, the team name is determined by the combination that the commander is part of or, should the commander not be part of any combination used, the name of the first special combination created.
Characters do not need to be placed in these specific orders in order for the combination to occur; characters are listed below in alphabetical order.

Synopsis[]
At the end of a school year that brought change to the Panzerfahren scene as Ōarai Girls' Academy[3] returned to the sport and climbed to the top of the ranks, the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation decide to hold a "Panzer Festival" in order to celebrate the rejuvenation of Panzerfahren. The Japanese Panzerfahren Federation invites all of the teams from across the world to participate in a series of exhibition matches in order to properly close out such a wonderful year. They also reunite the teams that fought against Ōarai in the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, giving the teams a second chance at defeating Ōarai. In addition to Saunders University High School, Anzio Girls' High School, Pravda Girls' High School, and Kuromorimine Girls' Academy,[4] other schools from around the world come to challenge the legendary commander Miho Nishizumi.
However, as the battles begin, it becomes clear that the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation may not have been the actual organizers of this event, and the celebration was being manipulated from behind the scenes.

The Panzer Festival![]
Following the major upset that occurred at the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, where Ōarai Girls' Academy managed to take home victory in their first participation after reviving the school's Panzerfahren team, schools all over the world found new interest in the sport and immediately began putting together teams to participate in the next national tournament. To thank Ōarai, and welcome the new school teams into the Panzerfahren community, the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation decided to host The Panzer Festival, a celebration of all things Panzerfahren. Calling teams from around the world to Ōarai, the Panzer Festival was designed to both host festivities for Panzerfahren participants, and allow anyone to challenge any of the powerhouse schools of Japan - now including Ōarai - in exhibition training matches. Thus, wanting to be able to go up against the legendary commander Miho Nishizumi, schools flock to this festival with the hopes of achieving this goal. Knowing this to be the goal of many, the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation task Ōarai's graduating student council members - Anzu Kadotani, Momo Kawashima, and Yuzu Koyama - as well as that school's Panzerfahren instructor - Ami Chōno - to help set-up and host the celebration.
The Panzerfahren team of Ōarai Girls' Academy arrive at The Panzer Festival and are shocked at the turn-out. Anglerfish Team doesn't get much time to mingle however as they are immediately pulled aside by their student council, who asks them to help host the celebration for them. While Miho Nishizumi quickly denies, the student council explains that Miho has essentially become the face of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation due to her amazing results in the nationals. Begrudgingly, with the help of her friends, Miho and Anglerfish decide to take up the task, and are ushered away to the stage where Anzu explains the details of the battle system they have planned.
In order to make the event more interesting, Anzu Kadotani reveals that the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation planned on shuffling the established Panzerfahren teams around, creating new groups. This way, through random drawing, every school in attendance has a chance to fight alongside or against at least one member of Ōarai's team. Though this surprises Anglerfish, Anzu adds that the federation decided on these rules so that this festival wouldn't clash with the upcoming pro league or the national tournaments, and could be considered separate; and that they had opposed the plan initially but they were unable to change the minds of those at the federation. Overhearing this, Shichiro Kodama, the president of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, explains that schools are also free to hold exhibition matches with their normal school teams during the event, but these rules are in place for legal reasons. He, as well as Ami Chōno, then go out to begin the celebration.
After Kodama and Chōno commence the festival, Anzu, Miho, and the rest of Anglerfish Team are called out to the stage to explain the tournament rules. Though they immediately are met with confusion, they pump everyone up by saying this tournament is meant to unite the Panzerfahren community like never before.
The Promised Exhibition Match![]
Before the tournament bracket is revealed, Miho is interrupted by two loud individuals: Jajka and Shizuka Tsuruki. Bringing up the unfulfilled promise she made them - that Ōarai would fight the two of them head-on in an exhibition match - Ami Chōno steps in with an idea: to get the celebrations going, Ōarai and the Bonple-Centipede Alliance would have an Exhibition Match for everyone in attendance. Considering that Ōarai has nine tanks while the Bonple-Centipede Alliance only has seven, St. Gloriana's Rosehip and Orange Pekoe are also roped in to this match as "honorary" members of Bonple High School during the Cauldron Tournament.
Though hesitant to agree to this match before a tournament, the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation acknowledge the exhibition match and Ōarai is forced to accept.
|
The Federation forces this battle to abide by the official Panzerfahren ruleset, and thus the Bonple-Centipede Alliance, which is primarily used to the lawless Tankathalon and use smaller tanks, are at a disadvantage in a flag battle.
Starting in the rocky hills on the outskirts of Ōarai, the Bonple-Centipede Alliance make use of their smaller tanks to surprise the Ōarai team and quickly manage to overwhelm them. Knowing that Ōarai tends to use Turtle Team to scout the area, Rosehip is tasked with defeating the Hetzer before they can reveal where their enemy's flag tank is.
Despite the disadvantage in their tank line-up, the Bonple-Centipede Alliance manage to defeat three of Ōarai's tanks (the Shark, Mallard, and Turtle Teams) and the Leopon Team's engine combusts. Ōarai also manage to take the lead by defeating the vanguard of Uszka, Rosehip, Kafka, Semla, and Bopshorus. As the battle moves from the hills and into the city, the match enters it's second phase.

The remaining members of the Bonple-Centipede Alliance spread out through Ōarai, Ōarai's team is caught by surprise when Hippo Team is taken out by Jajka and Orange Pekoe on their way into the city. Managing to regain composure, the rest of Ōarai's team follow Bonple-Centipede's lead by also spreading out through the streets. Miho begins to suspect that the flag tank is not protected by anyone, and sends Rabbit Team and Duck Team to find them.
Rabbit Team and Duck Team manage to find the flag tank, though are caught by surprise when Shizuka Tsuruki rushes them from behind. Duck Team manages to hold Shizuka back while Rabbit Team takes down Aung in the flag tank, earning Ōarai the victory.
The Tournament Bracket![]
As repairs are done on the tanks of Bonple, Centipede, and Ōarai's teams, the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation reveals the randomized bracket they came up with, separating the large crowd of gathered schools into sixteen teams of seven tanks, with nine of these being intriguing to most: those that Ōarai members are part of.
|
A mix of disappointment, excitement, and confusion is expressed by most as they see that Ōarai has been evenly split up into nine different teams, each with members of the powerhouse schools' teams making up the rest. But the members of Anglerfish Team question whether these drawings were truly randomized when Erika Itsumi appears as one of their teammates. Knowing how rocky the relationship between the Kuromorimine vice-commander and former vice-commander is, Yukari Akiyama especially can't help but question whether this was simply an unlucky drawing or a purposeful choice.
Regardless of how people feel about the results of the teams, Ami Chōno explains that the tournament bracket features Flag Matches in accordance with the typical Panzerfahren ruleset. She goes on to announce that repechage matches will be held for the eliminated teams and additional exhibition matches may further be requested, allowing everyone to get their fair shot at facing these unique teams.
The Chain of Command: Red vs. Black![]
The first match of the tournament is revealed to be between the Red and Black Teams as the tournament bracket is revealed. As the teams gather to all converse and develop strategies, a common issue rises up among each group: who will lead? Between the Red and Black Teams, who are expected to enter battle in only a short time, this discussion is rushed through. Though she is initially chosen to lead Red Team due to being a member of the All-Stars University Team, Megumi reveals that the university students had been asked to refrain from taking a commanding role in order to let the high school students shine. Thus, she instead appoints Emi Nakasuga, whom she judges to be a talented commander due to the respect her fellow teammates - Hitomi Yuzumoto, Takami, Kita, and Nagisa Shiratori - as well as Kiri Shiratori express for her; Noriko Isobe of Ōarai also commends her for the strategies she used in the battle that Ōarai and Bellwall fought previously. Galette is hesitant to accept this however, not being aware of Emi's strengths in battle and gives her an ultimatum: if they begin losing the next battle, Galette will take over as commander and act as vice-commander in the mean time. Emi agrees to this, and Red Team decides they are ready for battle.
Black Team likewise decides the chain of command quite quickly. Leila Rou and Naomi, of Kuromorimine and Saunders respectively, announce that they don't particularly care who leads, and Moule takes a step back to allow the others to decide among themselves as well. Anzu Kadotani suggests the remaining four teams - Kafka, Hosomi, and Anchovy in addition to herself - just have a rock-paper-scissors contest to decide the leader, with second-place being the vice-commander. Hosomi loses quickly, and Anzu joins her on the sidelines. After a couple of ties, Anchovy eventually ends up the winner of this and Kafka takes the role of vice-commander. Black Team announces that they are ready for battle and the tournament officially begins.
|
As the battle begins, Emi immediately decides that their greatest threat would be the Firefly, as its driver is notorious for being a great gunner. Megumi agrees on that point, and Emi splits their small group in three: one team to look for the flag tank, one to take down the Firefly, and one to protect the Flag Tank (the Type 89B). Emi has Megumi protect Duck Team, while the other two groups are chosen by Galette, who split them up as:
- Kiri Shiratori, Nina, and herself are tasked with taking out the Firefly
- Emi and Semla will scout for the enemy Flag Tank and take them down.
The two teams engage in combat, though even once the Firefly has been taken down - with some losses, such as Kiri Shiratori and the KV-2 - the enemy Flag Tank is nowhere to be found. As the Red Team scrambles to locate their enemy, Megumi and Noriko radio in that they've been surrounded by the two tanks that have been MIA: Anchovy's Carro Armato P26/40 and Moule's Renault AMR-35. Though the latter is not a big threat due to the M26 Pershing being significantly stronger than the French light tank, though the Type 89B would likely be unable to survive much of an assault from both. Surprised that Anchovy managed to surprise Emi and Galette like this, both gather the remaining forces and head to their allies.
|
Duck Team manages to survive Anchovy and Moule's onslaught of attacks just long enough for their allies to arrive, though Megumi is defeated as the survivors of Black Team catch her in a surpsise pincer attack, once again a result of her underestimating the high school students. The two Black Team members try to escape now that they've taken out the university student, but are stopped as the rest of Red Team take aim for Anchovy, the enemy Flag Tank.
|
Surprisingly, both the Type 89B and Carro Armato PS6/40 are damaged and put out of commission almost simultaneously, forcing the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation to review the footage and determine who was knocked out first. By only a split second, the Red Team is called the victor of the first match.
The Chain of Command: Yellow vs. Orange![]
While the battle between Red Team and Black Team rages on, the other teams also deliberate about the chain of command. While some, such as Blue Team, who decide quickly as Maho Nishizumi is unanimously voted the leader, other teams have a much more difficult time of things. Yellow Team falls in the latter camp.
Despite Darjeeling's reputation, the fiery Haru Tamada and driven Sheska oppose her taking up command. Instead of fighting however, Darjeeling decides to simply appoint Sheska the team's commander, who appoints Klara as her vice-commander. Though this draws the skepticism of Hippo Team, Carpaccio, and Haru Tamada, the former two reluctantly agree because they trust Darjeeling's judgement.
Orange Team is similar. Katyusha, being the arrogant commander of the powerhouse Pravda, attempts to declare herself the commander by discrediting her allies; all except Alice Shimada, who claims to have been told to stay out of discussions of commanding teams. The team of Count's Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf. N, Ruka Oshida, and Mallard Team are all displeased by this however, and attempt to shut down her attempts at usurping the empty position. Ruka Oshida and Midoriko Sono both try to persuade their allies in order to lead the group, but Anna Masukura's praise of Noemi Kohiyama wins them over instead. To their surprise, Noemi decides to appoint Youko Minami as her vice-commander, seeing as she and Koume Akaboshi (the latter of whom declines wanting to lead) were the only two who weren't fighting for the role initially. Despite criticisms from Katyusha and Ruka Oshida, Alice Shimada accepts this decision and this causes the argument to cease somewhat.
Though the Yellow Team has some reservations about their chains of command, the Federation calls for the start of the battle.
|
At the beginning of the match, both teams come up with a similar strategy: have a tank lie in wait among the sunflowers. Sheska instructs Hippo Team to do this, planning to lure Orange Team to them so the StuG can take out the Flag Tank; opposingly, Noemi Kohiyama has herself and Mallard Team hide within the patches of flowers, using it as cover for protection. The more-experienced commanders, Darjeeling especially, notice flaws in their these strategies, though refuse to point them out.
The greatest flaw in these plans comes when Hippo Team literally bumps into Orange Team's Flag Tank, though they are unable to properly attack Noemi Kohiyama's Panzer III due to the StuG not possessing a rotating turret. As Noemi attempts to flee, the ensuing fight between the opposing Ōarai tanks reveals their locations to both teams. Defying her commander's orders to focus on Orange Team's strongest member - Alice Shimada - Haru Tamada unleashes her Chi-Ha-Tan spirit and decides to charge straight into battle, an act which forces Sheska to hurriedly request Mizuki Ikarashi to give her backup as Noemi has Youko Minami lead a small group to help Mallard Team escape.
|
Unfortunately for Yellow Team, all three of Mizuki Ikarashi, Haru Tamada, and Hippo Team are defeated, though the latter two manage to also take out Youko Minami and Mallard Team as well. Frustrated with Haru Tamada's actions, Sheska angrily decides to just charge straight at Orange Team with the aim of defeating Noemi Kohiyama. This is universally panned by all of her allies, and Sheska immediately shuts down Klara's alternate suggestions. In response Darjeeling simply points out that those are the commander's orders and should be followed, hoping to teach the Kuromorimine girl a lesson. Sheska orders that they aim specifically for the Flag Tank and no one else, abandoning her previous idea of taking down Alice Shimada to weaken their strength.
Katyusha and Alice are surprised at the plan they see their opponents trying, destroying their previous assumptions that Darjeeling had taken command of the team. Thus, Noemi decides to use this new knowledge to her advantage. She has Katyusha and Ruka Oshida hide in a small valley between hills, and Noemi explains that she will use herself as bait to lure them to these hills where they can fire at Yellow Team from below and avoid any shots from them, hoping to end the battle.
|
To the surprise of both teams, Sheska reveals that she isn't as short-tempered as she initially let on. Seeing through the trick, Sheska breaks off from her team and sneaks around to cut Noemi off as she tries to escape. Shocking everyone, Sheska manages to take down Noemi Kohiyama - the enemy flag tank - and claim victory. Through this, she earns praise from her allies, though some instead chalk up her strategy to her being a Kuromorimine student. Similarly, Darjeeling praises Noemi Kohiyama's strategies.
The Chain of Command: Green vs. White![]
For the Green Team, the debate for the position of commander is not a difficult one. While Nilgiri and Fondue stay out of the debate, most of the other members of Green Team unanimously stand behind Shizuka Tsuruki taking the position. Indeed, even Ōarai's Rabbit Team, who have no experience with her fighting style, and Shizuka herself are opposed to this, with Shizuka wanting Ōarai's new vice commander to take the position considering their role as Ōarai's Heavy Tank Killers. Though Rabbit Team is flattered by the idea, Azusa declines the position seeing as how most of their team already trusts Shizuka's judgement. The Tatenashi commander agrees to be commander, though has Rabbit Team act as her vice-commander.
Though the discussion for Green Team lasts a short time, the White Team has a much harder time deciding a chain of command. The commanders for three schools each have their own goals in this tournament: though Kay wants to win she puts having fun and playing fair above all else, while Éclair desires victory to prove that Maginot has grown as a team and Jajka wants to defeat Shizuka Tsuruki after losing to her in each battle. Similarly, Rosehip opposes Jajka taking over command due to her experiences with them, while Rena Andou opposes anyone she has no knowledge of bossing her around. While Maho Nishizumi's Blue Team fights her own battle, Jajka decides to put the decision up to a special kind of fight: a Panzerfahren battle where a tank is eliminated if they get hit once; that way their tanks wouldn't be too damaged for the upcoming battle. Leopon Team admits that they should be able to fix up a single hit of damage in such a short amount of time, and consult Ami Chōno to see if this is possible. After getting permission, those vying for the position of commander - Jajka, Éclair, Rena Andou, and Rosehip - get ready to present their unique ways of approaching battle, while Kay decides to bow out and watch this match.
|
Surprising the members of White Team, it is Jajka who manages to overpower her allies and claim the position of commander. Impressed with her skills, Rena Andou and Éclair acknowledge her skills and agree to follow her, though Rosehip is still unimpressed. Leopon Team quickly manage to fix up the minor damage each tanks sustained just as White Team is called to fight against Green Team.
As the battle begins, Jajka gives the order to spread out and eliminate only the enemy's Flag Tank. Though her allies are generally confused about this order, Jajka elaboarates by explaining that Tatenashi High School has only one tank, so she works best when not needing to rely on the assistance of others. Kay, also aware of how Shizuka fights after watching the Cauldron Tournament, simply follows these orders despite believing otherwise.
|
White Team is apalled when, after searching the entire battlefield, they are only able to find a single enemy tank, which they eliminate with no issue. Not comprehending where Green Team could be, Kay explains that this is why she was unopposed to Jajka taking command: to learn about the flaws in her fighting style. As this reminds her of something Shizuka once told her, she angrily fires on Kay and eliminates her own teammate, causing the rest of White Team to turn on Jajka.
Meanwhile, Alisa acts as a scout for Green Team, and watches as White Team's members turn against their leader. They chase Jajka off, and Éclair takes command instead with Rena Andou as her vice-commander. As the two try to come up with a new strategy, Alisa gives Green Team the order to move in and take out the enemy Flag Tank.
|
To the surprise of Green Team, Éclair is a surprisingly competent commander whose orders allow White Team to turn the tide of battle. Despite being ambushed, Emi Kojima and Leopon Team manage to take out Alisa, Nilgiri, and the hesitating Fondue before being defeated themselves. Rabbit Team and Asparagus - neither of whom are the Flag Tank for Green Team - escape the battle, and the remnants of White Team give chase hoping that they'll lead them back to Shizuka Tsuruki.
|
Asparagus and Rabbit Team manage to circle around and take Rena Andou and Rosehip out, leaving only Éclair - the Flag Tank - and the missing Jajka still in the action. Starting to get pains in her stomach, Éclair decides it best to try and avoid combat and instead focus on finding and eliminating Shizuka. But this hesitation is her downfall. As she begins to make her way down the streets of the streets of the Shizuoka Prefecture, she is caught off-guard when a damaged Shizuka suddenly appears and ambushes her from behind. The two Flag Tanks are then forced to fight each other one-on-one in the narrow streets, as Éclair decides it better to defeat Centipede Team before the other remaining members of Green Team are able to regroup.
|
The narrow streets prove to be Éclair's downfall. While the Te-Ke can move through the corridors with ease, the larger SOMUA S35 has much more difficulty doing so. In the end, Éclair is the loser of the round one match as Centipede Team barely manages to take the Maginot commander down.
The Chain of Command: Cyan vs. Purple![]
As Cyan Team group together, they immediately schism. Not due to an argument over who should lead the group, rather Cyan Team fracture apart due to the odd couple of Mika and Marina Constantinescu. Mika and Marina immediately begin to bond over their more unique perspective of the world, and, barring Aki and Mikko, all of their teammates begin to drift away from them. Rumi, being used to Mika's strange antics, gives her and Marina the push to be the leaders of Cyan, though both turn down the role immediately with the excuses of such role not being their calling at this time. Instead, Marina divines and proclaims Bordeaux the commander.
However, while Cyan Team quickly manage to create a chain of command, Purple Team is fractured immediately. While Miho Nishizumi is the famous commander who led the unknown Ōarai to victory at the Nationals, Erika Itsumi makes a show of her negative opinion of her school's former vice-commander, and the two Bellwall commanders - Chifuyu Doi and Neko Yamamori - each fight over the fact that they would never listen to anyone who doesn't prove themselves. As Yukari Akiyama tries to convince the others to let Miho lead them, the Ōarai commander instead turns to Marie. Knowing Marie managed to bring together the Examiner and Escalator Factions of BC Freedom High School, Miho asks that she unite this team as well, though she shuts this down. Instead just wanting to eat cake, Marie mentions that she thinks a fight like this might be good for their team, but the others disagree. Rukuriri and Aung are instead the ones to take up this order and try to cool down the others, but are quickly pushed away. Instead of being able to sort out their issues however, Purple Team is called into battle against Cyan Team without a chain of command.
Rukuriri, Aung, and Anglerfish Team all try to restore order in their team, though the Bellwall girls and Erika Itsumi deny all of these attempts. Erika states her promise that she is, no doubt, stronger than Miho ever would be and refuses to work alongside her, while the Bellwall girls fight each other and push the others out. As the battle begins, Purple Team immediately breaks apart. While Miho tries to take command, Erika Itsumi decides to turn on her, hoping to prove that she can win without Miho and prove that she is stronger. Chifuyu Doi and Neko Yamamori also turn on Miho, though instead to test whether or not she is strong enough to lead them. Rukuriri and Marie decide to stay out of this fight and begin hunting down the other team, while Aung - the Flag Tank - remains to help Miho (despite the pleas of Anglerfish Team).
|
Though Anglerfish Team manages to dodge the attacks of the three traitors, their ability to do so is limited as time goes on. After a while however, Ōarai's Panzer IV is taken out by Erika Itsumi, who shouts in delight at finally beating Miho in a fair match. Unfortunately, she is then taken out by Rumi, who was laying in wait for their quarrel to finish. Caught off guard, Chifuyu and Neko both turn on Rumi and the other approaching Cyan Team tanks.
|
By banding together, the two delinquent leaders manage to take down Rumi of the All-Stars University Team and Anzio's Pepperoni. Bosphorus however manages to take Chifuyu Doi out before Aung comes to the aid of Neko Yamamori and defeats the remaining Cyan member. Acknowledging Aung's strength, Neko decides to appoint her the leader of Purple Team, much to the relief of Rukuriri, Marie, and, though eliminated, Miho and Chifuyu Doi. Erika too begrudgingly accepts this proposal following Aung's performance during the Cauldron Tankthalon Tournament, though still disappointed in the way this battle played out.
Aung decides to take the initiative and regroup their team, hoping to track down the enemy flag tank. As Aung manages to rally her teammates, they manage to locate three of the four remaining members of Cyan Team as they make their way towards the golf course near Ōarai. Aung decides to fall back while the others take on those defending their own Flag Tank.
|
As the six tanks converge on the golf course, a giant battle unfolds. Though Cyan Team gains the advantage early with the defeat of Marie, Rukuriri and Neko Yamamori manage to turn the tides as they take out Nekota and Marina Constantinescu. In the end, Mika manages to take out Rukuriri and Neko just as the two members of Purple Team manage to take out the BT-42 as well. Thus, this leaves only the two Flag Tanks left to duel.
Aung enters the golf course to see the remains of the battle, and gets shot at by Bordeaux as she enters. Among the wreckage of their allies, Bordeaux and Aung fight in a one-on-one duel.
|
Just as in the battle between Red Team and Black Team, Aung and Bordeaux manage to take each other out simultaneously. Unlike Red and Black Teams however, this is not an exaggeration: as the Federation rewatches the final moments of the battle, they find that the shells collided with each tank at literally the exact same moment. Unable to thus declare a winner, the Federation postpone the next round as they decide how to continue.
Bonus Missions[]
Bonus Missions are unlocked by completing a set of missions as every available character. These Bonus Missions describe parts of the plot that occur outside of the main Story Missions as they are portrayed. Unlike the main Story Missions, which typically allow the player to experience a battle from both teams' perspectives, Bonus Missions instead act akin to Extra Missions in that the player only has a single choice for who they may control.

It's the Nishizumi Style![]
Unlocked by completing The Chain of Command: Red vs. Black! (Missions 03-05) as every character.
When Blue Team's members meet, they are immediately fractured by Shark Team's unwillingness to cooperate with anyone, as well as the Kashiwaba sisters' spoiled attitude. With Shark Team claiming that they will only listen to people who prove themselves stronger than themselves, Maho Nishizumi decides to prove herself worthy of being their leader - something which everyone else, include Azumi of the All-Stars University Team, is willing to accept already due to the reputation of the Nishizumi Style, Kuromorimine, and Maho herself. Not contempt with Maho proving herself by only defeating Shark Team, Maho explains that she will take on all six other tanks all by herself. Shark Team agrees that they'll follow her orders if she can win this one-sided match, expecting it to be an impossible feat.
|
With Maho Nishizumi managing to defeat all of her six teammates using the widely-feared Nishizumi Style, Shark Team gives in and decides to follow the famed commander. The Kashiwaba sisters too cease all complaints, comparing Maho to the "gorilla woman" who leads Bellwall's team.
The Force of a Dragon![]
Unlocked by completing The Chain of Command: Green vs. White! (Missions 09-13) as every character.
After betraying her team, Jajka flees as to prevent herself from being knocked out before battling Shizuka Tsuruki. Wanting to achieve this more than anything in order to prove her strength, Jajka decides to search the battlefield for her adversary. By chance, she happens to spot the signature red Te-Ke of the Centipede Team hiding in-between two tall buildings, and she immediately turns her attention to it. With a shout, she challenges Shizuka to a one-on-one duel, and the so-called "princess" of Tatenashi readily accepts the invitation.
|
Though Jajka manages to deal a significant amount of damage to Centipede Team, Shizuka and Rin Matsukaze manage to take the Queen of Tankathalon out, leaving White Team with only a single remaining member. While Jajka is distraught, Shizuka offers the same advice she did once before: her way of thinking is too narrow. The commander of Green Team then radios her teammates, explaining that she wants to take down White Team's Flag Tank in a fair one-on-one, to which Asparagus accepts and Rabbit Team, while confused, also agree to.
Tanks are divided into five classes: Light Tanks, Medium Tanks, Heavy Tanks, Tank Destroyers, and Other. The "Other" category consists of weapons that do not fit into the other categories, for reasons such as:
- The tank is technically illegal within the rules of Panzerfahren established by the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation
- The tank is of either the Tankette or Super-Heavy Classes.
- The vehicle is classified as a self-propelled artillery unit rather than a tank.
Regardless of the different ways tanks may control in actuality, all tanks share the same controls; this includes, contrary to reality, the ability to drift, though doing so will damage the player's treads slightly and make it easier for them to be destroyed by enemies. By aiming for a tank's treads they will be rendered temporarily immobilized until they are fixed. Additionally, all tanks have unique "Weak Points", which deal double damage to them should they be hit.
The stats of a tank are divided into eight categories. These stats can have points added or deducted based upon the crew members present within the tank, with some combinations of characters giving bonuses when paired together. Furthermore, the stat bonuses granted by characters will also increase the more familiar they become with the tank. The eight stat categories, and what they determine, are the following:
- Attack determines base damage output of the tank's shells.
- Loading Speed determines how quickly shells are reloaded. While not consistent, tanks with greater loading speeds also have slightly room for error when it comes to performing a perfect reload.
- Accuracy determines the likelihood of shells hitting their designated target. This primarily affects shots taken without using the scope and manually aiming and instead primarily affected targets aimed at through the lock-on feature.
- Armour determines the general defensive capabilities of the tank.
- Speed determines the maximum movement speed of the vehicle. This does not include the time it takes for a tank to accelerate to this speed.
- Maneuverability determines how easy it is to handle the tank as one would like. The effects of a low maneuverability stat fluctuates depending on tank, with some becoming incredibly difficult to turn while others' cornering skills become so great that they can not be controlled.
- Reconnaissance determines the distance a tank must be from an enemy before they are indicated to the enemy team. The higher this stat, the closer a tank can get without being noticed. This does not impact tanks being noticed due to firing at others, however.
- Maintenance determines how quickly the tank's treads can be fixed.
While the original Dream Tank Match only allowed the player to customize tank teams in the Tank Garage, Dream Tank Match II instead requires the player to select team members every time a tank is selected. In order to streamline this process however, players can save up to three team selections per tank, which can be chosen from a drop-down list to immediately fill a tank roster.
Players are able to customize the general look of the Tanks they command with a variety of unlockable cosmetic items. Tanks may be repainted with different patterns (such as camouflages) or solid colours, and equipped with a variety of different decorations such as flags or stickers. If no custom design is applied, a tank will use a basic design dependant on the school attended by the tank's commander. These cosmetic items are unlocked by destroying Boko dolls hidden around maps in the game's Story Mode.
On the loading screen at the beginning of every match, Saunders University High School's Lockheed C-5 Galaxy can be seen deploying the tanks that will fight on the player's team in the upcoming battle. They do this through the use of the low-altitude parachute-extraction system (LAPES).
Light Tanks · Medium Tanks · Heavy Tanks · Tank Destroyers Other Weapons |
It should be noted that the country of origin listed for each tank refers to the modern-day equivalent of that which would have developed the tank originally. Additionally, most tanks are referred to by shortened names on the HUD during battle; these shortened names are listed alongside their full ones.
Light Tanks[]
Light tanks are smaller in size that are designed to move at higher speeds. Though they usually serve the role of reconnaissance units or to support larger tanks, light tanks are not useless in terms of combat, though they must often get close to their targets in order to be truly effective. Light tanks are generally crewed by two or three-person teams.

Medium Tanks[]
As evidenced by the name of this class of tank, medium tanks were developed to act as a compromise between the faster light tanks and the more-powerful heavy tanks. Medium tanks were generally the most successful and most plentiful type of tank used in World War II. Earlier medium tanks were designed to priortise speed over power, in a manner similar to light tanks, a practice that would evolve into the Cruiser tank class in Britian, while the medium tank designation would later be used for tanks that attempt to successfully balance firepower, mobility, and defense. Medium tanks are generally manned by four or five-person teams.

D (Custom F2)" and "Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. D (Custom H)", respectively. Referring to the tanks in-game as "Ausf. F2" and "Ausf. H" respectively was a choice made to simplify their designations.
Heavy Tanks[]
Owing to their name, tanks of the heavy class generally aim to surpass those of lighter classes by possessing more armour in addition to firepower that equals or surpasses those of medium tanks. Originally introduced during World War I, heavy tanks were designed in order to operate alongside infantry units in order to take down artillery and anti-tank weaponry, thus requiring them to be heavily armoured in order to survive bombardments; in World War II, heavy tanks would be similarly used to push through enemy ranks. Heavy tanks require four or five-member teams to be properly controlled, though the Char B1 bis is an outlier as it instead only requires three; though this is due to Ōarai Girls' Academy's Mallard Team under-staffing the tank in canon and not due to the tank's size or capabilities.

Tank Destroyers[]
Tank destroyers, true to their name, are vehicles equipped with artillery guns or missile launchers designed in order to combat tanks or other armaments, making their usage somewhat situational in normal combat. Tank destroyers are technically not "tanks" by definition, instead being classified as armoured fighting vehicles, though they are often called such due to being based on existing tank chassis. Three or four-person teams are required to properly staff tank destroyers.

Other Weapons[]
In-game, the following vehicles are classified under a general "other" category despite the tanks and vehicles coming from a variety of different tank classes in reality. This section breaks down these unidentified categories.
Like tank destroyers, tankettes are a classification of vehicle that are not technically "tanks" but rather armoured fighting vehicles. Tankettes are small AFVs that are roughly the size of a car and manned by two individuals. They are used primarily for reconnaissance, a task they excel at due to their small size and higher speeds. Tankettes are generally weaker than other tanks because of their size, but also due to the fact that many of them are armed with machine guns rather than tank guns.

Super-heavy is a classification of tank that surpasses heavy tanks in size and weight. Super-heavy tanks were designed to be invincible and able to penetrate any base with ease. During World War II, super-heavy tanks never entered actual combat though multiple countries had built various prototypes that would either be cancelled or destroyed. Super-heavy tanks require crews of five. It should be noted that the T28 Super Heavy Tank, despite it's name, has also been historically classified as a tank destroyer.

The Karl-Gerät 040 is a self-propelled siege mortar that were previously banned from entry under the official Panzerfahren ruleset; the mortar was only legalized for combat after pressure from MEXT prior to the battle between Ōarai Girls' Academy and the All-Stars University Team. The mortar can not be classified as a tank nor does it fit within the classifications of any other weapon used in the Girls und Panzer franchise. In order to comply with the safety restrictions of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, the Karl-Gerät has been heavily modified in order to automate it's loading procedures.
The Type 10 Hitomaru is a next-generation main battle tank. Due to it being developed in 2012 and thus not existing during the Second World War, the Type 10 is banned from participating in official Panzerfahren matches. It is the tank used by the Japan Self-Defence Forces, and one is frequently used as transportation by instructor Ami Chōno of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation.

Playable Characters[]
Unlike in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, where only a small pool of character could be seen in battle as they popped their heads out of their tanks, Dream Tank Match II allows any character that may be playable to take this role. While only the tank's commander will stick their head out of their tank during battle, all crew members will pose together afterwards should victory be achieved. Some combinations of characters in a single tank will cause them to get a special team name and have unique conversations with each other or victory poses; by default tanks typically take on the name of the tank's commander as their team name (i.e. Nishizumi Team) and characters use a small selection generic voice clips, often not even referring to each other by name.
There are five roles that a character may take inside a tank. Depending on the tank one character may have to perform multiple duties due to the being understaffed; these roles are decided by how the roles are distributed within the Girls und Panzer canon and not by real-world experiences. Additionally some tanks may also require multiple characters to share the same role due to possessing multiple guns or unorthodox controls. The five types of roles given to characters are the following:
- Tank commander, who relays the player's directions to the crew. When they pop their head out of their tank, commanders are able to look directly to the left, right, or back of their vehicle at a quick speed. The player is also able to give four quick verbal cues to their allies; while particularly nessecary for online play, CPU allies may also respond to these phrases accordingly. The four verbal commands are "thank you", "sorry", "on my way", and "congratulations", though the exact wording differs between characters.
- Driver, who relays information about the surrounding terrain to the crew. They also report whenever the player's treads are damaged.
- Gunner, who reports the distance between target tanks and whether or not they successfully damage them.
- Loader, whose job it is to reload shells for the gunner to fire. By timing button presses, correctly the loader will instantly reload their next shell; fail this however and their reload speed will decrease.
- Radio operator, who relays the statuses of the player's allies and the known locations of enemy tanks to the crew.
These roles are tied to different slots when creating a tank crew, and some tanks conflate multiple roles into a single slot. Characters say different voice lines and react to situations differently depending on the position(s) they take; for instance, the driver will react to uneven terrain or answer orders to reverse or accelerate, while the loader will comment when the player either successfully performs a perfect reload or fails such. While characters that are part of special team combinations share unique dialogue, they may also say different lines depending on the roles that these members take on.
Each school also has an overall commander that manages the entire Panzerfahren team. This is not a proper role in-game, as it is instead given to the player's chosen team in single player scenarios and does not exist in multiplayer.
The game boasts a base roster of 112 characters that players are able to fill out their teams with; only 107 of these characters are usable within the game's story mode however, with five (Shiho Nishizumi, Chiyo Shimada, Ami Chōno, Kikuyo Idegami, and Chihiro Yusa) being unlocked once this mode is completed. Despite the large number, the game does not include every named character within the franchise. Every character has at least one other alternate costume that the player may have them wear instead of their school's default Panzerfahren uniform. These costumes can be purchased in the in-game shop using points earned simply by playing the game; players can also unlock the summer uniform for Ōarai Girls' Academy for every character simply by completing Tournament Mode as them. Many of the costumes included in the game originate from the mobile gacha game Girls und Panzer: Great Tankery Operation.
In addition to be being a playable character, Ami Chōno acts as the referee for each match. She notifies all participants when a tank is immobilized with "<tank> 底付与" ("sokofuyo"), and will officially finish each battle with "試合終了" ("shiai shūryō").

Miho Nishizumi is the overall commander of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team. Miho is the youngest daughter of Shiho Nishizumi, the current head of the Nishizumi family that teaches one of the two traditional styles of Panzerfahren combat. Raised in a strict household environment alongside her older sister Maho, Miho was taught that victory was more important than anything else. After abandoning her tank to save a comrade during the 62nd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, an act which caused her previous school of Kuromorimine to lose the tournament and break their nine-year winning streak, Miho transferred to Ōarai in an attempt to escape Panzerfahren before being forced to return to the sport by the student council in order to save Ōarai from closure. Though considered a legendary commander in the Panzerfahren world for leading an inexperienced team to a national victory, Miho is a fairly clumsy and anxious girl who sometimes puts little faith in her strategies and ideas. She remains burdened by the fact that she is part of the Nishizumi family and it's signature fighting style, as she believes victory is not what is important above all else and instead strives to create her own, fun style of Panzerfahren. Miho is a big fan of the Boko television character, a teddy bear who is beat up on a fairly regular basis due to him not fighting back against attackers; it is this love for the character that allowed her to bond with the commander of the All-Stars University Team, Alice Shimada.

Saori Takebe is a bubbly and cheerful second-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy, who is planned to serve as PR manager on the student council once Turtle Team graduates. Saori is incredibly interested in finding a good-looking boyfriend, which is what drove her to take up Panzerfahren when Ōarai's Panzerfahren Club was started back up. Despite seemingly having an incredible amount of knowledge about love and relationships, something which causes her underclassmen of Rabbit Team to often consult her for advice in this field and treat her like a big sister, Saori has never actually had a boyfriend before. She and Hana Isuzu were the first students to talk to Miho Nishizumi after she transferred to Ōarai, and the three of them quickly formed an unbreakable friendship.

Hana Isuzu is the upcoming student council president of Ōarai Girls' Academy, who comes from a family that traditionally practices flower arrangement. Because of Hana's background in Ikebana (flower arrangement), Hana is a generally polite individual who rarely lets her emotions overtake her. When she revealed to her mother that she began taking up Panzerfahren, Hana's mother was enraged that she would forego her family's delicate profession for a dangerous sport involving tanks, believing that Hana had done so simply to rebel against her. In reality Hana took up Panzerfahren after believing that her flower arrangements were lacking something, wanting to work with tanks in order to add some explosive element that would differentiate her style from that of her mother. Alongside her friend Saori, Hana quickly grew close with Miho Nishizumi after the Panzerfahren veteran transferred to Ōarai from Kuromorimine.

Yukari Akiyama is the incoming vice-president of Ōarai Girls' Academy's student council. Yukari is exceptionally well-read on everything related to tanks and Panzerfahren, being the most informed person on Ōarai's Panzerfahren Team in terms of tank models and their attributes. She has long had a fascination (obsession) with tanks, and it is for this reason that Yukari would become an outcast as she was unable to find any common interests with her classmates. After learning that Ōarai would be resurrecting their Panzerfahren Club, Yukari jumped at the chance to join and finally meet others who liked tanks as much as she did. As an avid fan of Panzerfahren, Yukari is also a fan of Miho Nishizumi and holds her commander in extremely high regard, going so far as to even defend Miho's previous choices against her older sister Maho Nishizumi.

Mako Reizei is a genius and second-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy. Mako suffers from hypotension, and her low blood sugar makes her incredibly tired throughout most of the day. Due to oversleeping (or sneaking away in order to find a place to nap), the leader of the Public Morales Committee, Midoriko Sono (whom Mako refers to as Sodoko), often chastises Mako for being late; according to Sodoko's records, Mako has been late for school over 250 times. Despite often being late for or missing classes, Mako is the top of her class. Mako was forced to take up Panzerfahren after her childhood friend Saori pointed out that she would not be able to earn enough units in order to graduate unless she earned the bonuses offered by the school council for joining the Panzerfahren Team.

Anzu Kadotani is the student council president of Ōarai Girls' Academy, whose job it is to oversee that all maintenance of the school and the ship it resides on is completed correctly each day. Despite holding the highest position of anyone on the school ship Zuikaku, Anzu possesses a fairly lazy and cheeky personality, often joking around in serious situations or resting while having others do work for her. This does not mean that she is poor at her job however, as even while seemingly just lounging around Anzu has the tendency to be an amazing (and somewhat manipulative) leader capable of micromanaging every bit of a project from behind the scenes. Perhaps one of Anzu's most notable traits is her great love for dried sweet potatoes (as sweet potatoes are one of Ōarai's main agricultural oriducts), which is likely connected to her amazing cooking skills. When Miho Nishizumi first transferred to Ōarai, Anzu forced her to participate in Panzerfahren without telling her the reason why, initially giving the transfer student a bit of a negative view of the student council. Following Anzu's graduation from Ōarai, she is to become the school's chairwoman.

Momo Kawashima is one of the three members of Ōarai Girls' Academy's student council, serving as the group's PR Manager, and also acted as the temporary overall commander of the school's Panzerfahren team during the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. Momo is a girl who attempts to mask her emotions by putting on a cool and strict facade, though this facade quickly drops during a Panzerfahren match. As the gunner for Turtle Team, Momo displays a very aggressive and almost hysterical side of herself as she often panics during battles, something which causes her to miss all of her targets and force Anzu to take over her position; Momo has only two confirmed hits on other tanks, though one shot was off her original mark and the other was at point-blank range. Momo's frenzied personality is believed to be due to anxieties relating to both the student council's work as well as worries relating to the futures of both Ōarai Girls' Academy and herself, as she has been known to be fairly kind on occasion and even smiled more when she was a first-year student. She was once captured by Anzio Girls' High School, though she used the occasion to whip the students of that school into shape and temporarily usurp the position of "Duce" from that school's Panzerfahren commander, Anchovy.

Yuzu Koyama is a third-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy and the vice president of the school's student council. Among the three members of the student council, Yuzu stands out particularly for being the kindest of them. However, perhaps a result of this kind personality, Yuzu is often the one who does most of the work given to the student council, as Anzu tends to lounge around while Momo orders the other two around. Despite having most of the work forced on her, Yuzu is able to tolerate the amount and has a close relationship with both Anzu and Momo, the latter of whom she affectionately refers to as Momo-chan. Yuzu is not immune to having her kindness wear out however, as she is known to get angry about once a year. During this time, she begins sulking and ignoring the person who brought her anger, though she usually makes up with them quickly once they perform a favour for her. She is the eldest of six siblings, with one younger sister and four younger brothers.

Noriko Isobe is a second-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy, and as serves as an upperclassman to her comrades of Duck Team. Noriko used to serve as the captain and setter of Ōarai's volleyball team prior to it being shut down by the student council. Alongside the three other members of the defunct volleyball team, Noriko decided to join the Panzerfahren club in order to raise awareness of how great volleyball is in hopes of using it to attract members and restart her team. Due to her experience as the captain of a sports team, Noriko possesses excellent tactical awareness and judge of character, allowing her to stand out as one of Ōarai's finest commanders. Her experiences as a captain of a sports team has also led her to become an excellent leader, which others easily accept due to her courageous and determined personality who believes that willpower is the only thing needed for success.

Taeko Kondou is one of the four members of the now-defunct volleyball team of Ōarai Girls' Academy, where she specialized in performing jump serves. Despite being fairly quiet and giving off the impression of being an introvert, Taeko is believed to be the most sociable of her teammates by her classmates, largely in part due to her gentle and friendly aura. As with her former volleyball teammates, Taeko decided to join the Panzerfahren club in hopes of using it to jumpstart a resurrection of volleyball within Ōarai. Taeko is known to rarely, if ever, lose her temper and display anger on any level, something that she may have developed as a result of having a younger brother. Like Akebi Sasaki, Taeko is also known to be quite skilled at imitations, being able to impersonate Darjeeling of St. Gloriana Girls College perfectly.

Shinobu Kawanishi served as an attacker for Ōarai Girls' Academy's now-defunct volleyball team. Shinobu contrasts her more eccentric teammates by possessing a colder appearance and more-logical way of thinking, though deep down she is a kind and warm-hearted girl who cares deeply not only for her teammates but also the resurrection of the volleyball club. Still, Shinobu tends to act as the straight man during the more-eccentric and ridiculous ideas persued by her teammates, and often questions these actions. Next to Noriko Isobe, Shinobu possesses the strongest desire to bring volleyball back to Ōarai, something that has a tendency to cut through her general way of thinking. Surprising to most, Shinobu is one of the few people that Saki Maruyama has warmed up to due to the two often meeting as Shinobu jogs and Saki strolls through the same park each morning.

Akebi Sasaki was a member of Ōarai's now-defunct volleyball team, where she specialized in blocking. Like her teammate Taeko Kondou, Akebi is a fairly quiet girl; though while Taeko is quiet and gentle, Akebi tends to generally remain quiet due to the fact that she gets flustered easily. Due to her more anxious nature she is often the first to react when the tank she serves as gunner in comes under attack, though she is able to refrain from outwardly panicking during these situations. In addition to having a love for volleyball (and Panzerfahren), Akebi is also a fan of ballet, and is knowledgeable enough on the subject to commentate a performance of Swan Lake. Akebi is able to imitate Yuzu Koyama and Momo Kawashima extremely well, and is capable of blending in with the students of Saunders University High School due to her naturally blonde hair giving her a more-American appearance reminiscent of those possessed by many of that school's students.

Erwin is the nickname used by Riko Matsumoto, one of the history otakus of Ōarai's Panzerfahren team. Riko chose the name "Erwin" in honour of Erwin Rommel, a highly-decorated officer who served for Germany in both World Wars, being promoted to rank of Hauptmann in 1918 and later serving as a field officer of the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. Erwin mimics Rommel by wearing a German Field Marshal-styled peak cap and Afrika Korps General utility coat he is famous for, while her haircut references Rommel's nickname of "Desert Fox" by being based on the ears of that animal. Though her morals do not directly align with Rommel's, Erwin took her nickname in reference to the fact that she is exceptionally well-versed in European history, as well as because several portions of her personality matching traits for which he was known - specifically the fact that she is exceptionally confident and a decisive, unwavering leader.

Takako Suzuki, better known as Caesar, is the leader of the History Girls that make up Hippo Team. Caesar is an ambitious, energetic, yet also fairly serious leader who takes her nickname from the Roman dictator Gaius Julius Caesar, with whom she shares those characteristics. Caesar's alias stems from her expertise on the history of the Roman Empire, as well as the fact that she is fluent in both Latin and Italian in addition to Japanese. She is childhood friends with an Anzio Girls' High School student who goes by the nickname "Carpaccio", and while they share a sort of rivalry in Panzerfahren, they also seem to have a relationship of an almost romantic nature. Though Erwin is technically the commander of Hippo Team, Caesar is the one who often attends strategy meetings.

Kiyomi Sugiyama is a second-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy who is predominantly referred to by the nickname Saemonza. While Hippo Team is made up of four history buffs, Saemonza is the only one to be a typical reki-jo, being an expert on Japan's Sengoku period. Adding to her knowledge of the Sengoku period, Saemonza's nickname comes from that of Yukimura Sanada, who is believed to be the greatest warrior in the history of Japan whose most famous battle was his last, where he served as the general of the army defending the Toyotomi clan and Osaka Castle from Ieyasu Tokugawa, a battle which is widely considered the true end of the Sengoku period. Saemonza is a fairly calm individual who tends to keep her left eye closed as if aiming a bow.

Takeko Nogami, more commonly refused to as Oryou, is one of the four history buffs of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team. Despite her unkept and tomboyish appearance, Oryou is the most feminine among her comrades; this is also exemplified in her being the only member of Team Hippo whose nickname references a woman, namely Ryō Narasaki. Narasaki was the wife of Ryōma Sakamoto, one of the architects of the Meiji Restoration that brought back imperial rule to Japan following the Tokugawa shogunate in the Bakumatsu period, which is the same time period that Oryou specializes in. Oryou is generally the calmest of the four history buffs, though gets just as excited as they do whenever the topic of history is brought up.

Azusa Sawa is a first-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy and, following the graduation of student council president Anzu Kadotani, will serve as the overall vice-commander of the school's Panzerfahren team. Azusa is a caring girl who cares for her first-year colleagues both inside and outside of tanks, and often acts as the straight man among the zanier girls she is friends with. When it comes to battle Azusa is always determined to claim victory, and always aspires to follow the orders of Miho Nishizumi without fail. She is a quick-thinker who trusts the judgement of allies; her teammates compare her to Miho in battle because of her actions in battle, noting their similar tendencies when it comes to taking charge of others and giving orders. Azusa has a younger brother and has an interest in flower arrangement, as that was the elective she had been planning to take prior to the resurrection of Ōarai's Panzerfahren club.

Yuuki Utsugi is one of the first-year students of Ōarai Girls' Academy who makes up the crew of Rabbid Team. Yuuki is a lively and cheerful girl who also appears to be somewhat dull at times. Despite this, she is known to be a very sociable and lively girl who had a boyfriend up until she joined the newly-formed Panzerfahren team of her school. Though she, like her teammates, began Panzerfahren as a team of girls easily scared by combat, Yuuki matured quickly as she and her classmates participated within the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament to the point where she and her allies became one of the team's most noteworthy crews.

Ayumi Yamagou is a member of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team, working alongside her fellow first years as a member of Rabbit Team. Unlike her friends in Rabbit Team, Ayumi's body has matured and she stands above her allies in stature. Despite her more-mature appearance however, Ayumi is just as cheerful and childish as her friends, even more so to some extent. She is also known to have many tastes that are typically seen as masculine, something which causes her stress as she wishes to present herself in a more feminine way; this is likely what inspired her to take up Panzerfahren.

Saki Maruyama is a first-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy. A direct contrast to the other first-year students of Rabbit Team, Saki is an apathetic and stoic girl who rarely expresses emotions (and even less commonly does she even speak) and, like Anglerfish Team's Mako Reizei, seems capable of falling asleep in any location regardless of what may be happening around her. Despite often being seen staring off into space or daydreaming, Saki appears to be incredibly intelligent and observant and has proven herself able to find the weak spots of tanks and come up with unconventional tactics in very short periods of time. Saki is particularly close to two of her classmates: Karina Sakaguchi, who claims to have seen Saki smile more than anyone, and Shinobu Kawanishi of Duck Team; ironically, Saki initially grew close with Shinobu after mistaking her for a boy when jogging with a hood obscuring her face, though the two continued to grow closer even after Saki rectified this mistake.

Aya Oono is a cheerful student of Ōarai Girls' Academy. After learning that Panzerfahren would be returning to Ōarai, Aya immediately signed up to join the team after seeing a promotional film and growing attached to the enthralling sport. Aya is generally an upbeat and positive girl who keeps the spirits of her Rabbit Team comrades up even in the most dire of situations, even though her glasses frequently break whenever their tank is damaged. Fitting for her position as one of Rabbit Team's gunners, Aya is also an impulsive girl who always wants to leap into action without pause; this is frequently demonstrated by her asking questions on online forums without ever giving enough information to actually receive adequate help. She is also known to be fairly popular with guys, and, like the other first-year students, often consults Saori Takebe for relationship advice.

Karina Sakaguchi is a first-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy, and the only member of Rabbit Team whose initial elective choice was to pursue Panzerfahren (as she had yet to decide prior to it being resurrected). Karina's most prominent traits are her impulsive and easily excitable personality, though her mood has been known to wildly fluctuate depending on whatever anime she may be watching at the time. While Karina and her Rabbid Team comrades have matured through Panzerfahren, Karina is a brash girl through-and-through who seems to be able to remain calm both in and out of a tank.

Midoriko Sono is the third-year leader of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Public Morales Committee, though after her graduation she transitions into the role of an advisor. Midoriko is often referred to by her nickname of "Sodoko", one that she despises and often reacts to with irritation and anger. Similarly, Midoriko's strict and rule-abiding personality is often targeted towards Mako Reizei, the one who coined the nickname and who frequently gets to school late or skips classes altogether. Though Midoriko is known to live by the motto of "rules are meant to be followed", she is also known to ignore rules if it means keeping a promise or paying back a debt.

Because of this, Nozomi is one of Midoriko's right-hand girls and can always be found by her side. Just as Midoriko tends to be referred to by the nickname of "Sodoko", Nozomi is often called "Pazomi", though this nickname is also used by her friends and thus she doesn't react as irritably as Midoriko does when called Sodoko.

Perhaps because of Midoriko's strict and overbearing personality, Moyoko is quiet and reserved. Still, despite this personality, Moyoko is fiercely dedicated to upholding justice at Ōarai and can often be found standing at the front gate each morning, making sure the students arrive to class on time.

For this reason, she and the other Automotive Club members work to repair the team's tanks after each battle, as well as work to repair the tanks that have been found scattered about the school ship Zuikaku. Suzuki, like the other Automotive Club members, has a bit of an obsession with drifting vehicles, going so far as to modify the motor of their tank in order to increase it's speed and allow it to drift around corners. She is the youngest of three children, with both an older brother and sister.

Like the other members of the Leopon Team, Tsuchiya is incredibly enthusiastic and can become easily excited when it comes to anything vehicular. Nekota is a second-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy, who is referred to by her fellow Anteater Team members by her online handle "Nekonya". Nekota is a fairly quiet and anxious girl who is not good at initiating conversations with others, especially with others she has never met before. As such she prefers to converse through text when playing online games, and it was a certain tank-based online game that spurred her to consider joining the resurrected Panzerfahren of Ōarai Girls' Academy. Prior to the battle between Ōarai and the All-Stars University Team, Nekota began training her body and has since built up temendous physical strength; her training has resulted in her being able to toss the 6.6kg shells used by the Type 3 Chi-Nu through the air without any issue. In reference to her cat-based name, Nekota has a tendency to add "nyaaa" to the end of her sentences.

Piyotan is an online game fanatic, being a fan of a tank-based video game which she often plays with her friends "Nekonya" and "Momoga" - whom she only knew online prior to joining Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren. Piyotan is a polite and kind girl who, much like her friend Nekonya, has a bit of difficulty communicating with others. She has been a longtime fan of a tank-based game known as WoP, which taught her several things that she has since made use of in Panzerfahren and allows her to come up with new strategies with her fellow Anteater Team members whom she frequently plays with. Piyotan has trained her body to a great degree, being able to single-handedly catch and load the 6.6kg shells used by the Type 3 Chi-Nu that are thrown to her by Nekonya. Like her two Anteater Team friends, Piyotan has a verbal tic; she often adds "piyo" to the end of sentences.

Momoga is the online username used by a first-year student of Ōarai Girls' Academy. An avid fan of a tank-based combat game abbreviated as "WoP", Momoga is a cheerful gamer who joined Panzerfahren in order to live out the battles she previously only known to exist digitally. Momoga is an exciteable girl who, while still not incredibly sociable, appears to be able to associate with others more than her fellow Anteater Team comrades can. Though Momoga, Piyotan, and Nekonya had been online friends for a long time and have a great relationship with one another, the three never met face-to-face until Nekonya proposed that they join Ōarai's newly-revived Panzerfahren team. Momoga tends to add "momo" to the end of her sentences.

Ogin is a member of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Naval Studies Department. Ogin is the captain of the Naval Studies students that inhabit the lawless lower decks dubbed the "Johannesburg of Ōarai", lounging about alongside her closest mates in the Donzoko Bar that they appear to run. Though she is somewhat carefree, Ogin is known to love adventure and will readily take on any challenge. Despite these traits however, Ogin is an incredible leader who can sternly take charge when need be. She and the other members of the Shark Team she commands were almost expelled from Ōarai Girls' Academy but managed to be saved by Momo Kawashima, a member of the student council; it is to repay this debt that Ogin joined Ōarai's Panzerfahren team, as she otherwise had no interest in the sport.

Rum is a student of Ōarai Girls' Academy and a member of the school's Naval Studies Department, being one of the students whose job it is to maintain the school ship on which Ōarai Girls' Academy travels the oceans. Rum is a carefree girl who is known for being a drunkard, often walking unsteadily and trash-talking anyone who she may think lowly of. Despite seemingly being perpetually drunk (and almost always carrying a bottle of rum), Ōarai Girls' Academy does not stock alcoholic drinks so it can be presumed that her drunken nature is either an act or the result of a placebo effect.

Flint is a student of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Naval Studies Department who resides deep within the Johannesburg of Ōarai. Flint is a tall woman who always makes sure every movement she makes is elegant (and somewhat dramatic), as if she were dancing. This is fitting as Flint can commonly be found singing in the Donzoko Bar that Shark Team runs. Flint can always be found carrying a microphone, one which she uses both in Donzoko Bar and in the tank that she serves as radio operator in. Perhaps due to the fact that she is a very talented singer, Flint seems to be somewhat vain and narcissistic, as she will force others to listen to the CDs she burned of her singing.

Murakami is a Naval Studies student of Ōarai Girls' Academy, whose job it is to maintain the school ship Zuikaku that Ōarai rests atop. Murakami is a woman with little patience who is always ready to get into a brawl at the mere sign of something she doesn't like. Though she is hot-headed and one who quickly jumps to conclusions, underneath her thuggish exterior hides a gentle woman who is kind to those younger than her. Like the other members of Shark Team, Murakami initially had no interest in participating in Panzerfahren, and only joined in order to help Momo Kawashima, who helped prevent her from being expelled from Ōarai in the past.

Cutlass works as the bartender of Donzoko Bar, the place where the rebellious members of the Naval Studies Department go to hide away from the Public Morales Committee. Cutlass drastically contrasts her comrades in Shark Team, being a fairly quiet and composed individual who manages to remain calm in any situation; this makes her similar to the first-year student Saki Maruyama, who is similarly quiet and stoic, though Cutlass is more talkative. Perhaps the reason why she was chosen to bartend Donzoko is that Cutlass is a very kind girl who will offer help to others whenever they have been troubled by her friends, and is in general a very cooperative and helpful girl. Cutlass is a member of Ōarai's Naval Studies Department, something most people who meet her are unaware of due to her wearing a vest and apron over her uniform and foregoing the Naval Studies' standard sailor cap in favour of a maid headdress.

Darjeeling is a third-year student and the overall commander of the Panzerfahren Team of St. Gloriana Girls College. Darjeeling is fairly well-known across the Panzerfahren world due to her calm and chivalrous personality, one that stems from her desire to imitate the regality of English stereotypes. Her desire to present herself in a refined manner extends to her speech as well, often being rather polite and quoting famous lines from poems, plays, and books of all kinds. Though her refined act is Darjeeling's most well-known and prominent trait, she is also known to be rather free-spirited at heart, often being easily influenced by and trying to reenact scenes from novels she reads and unintentionally torturing her teammates Orange Pekoe and Assam with her horrendous cooking skills. The Panzerfahren team that Darjeeling commands became quite notable following Ōarai's win at the 63rd National Panzerfahren Tournament, as Darjeeling remains the only commander to have faced Miho Nishizumi's Ōarai team and come out victorious, having done so on at least two occasions. Darjeeling also organized the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, in which she also participated while disguised as "Black Tea Mask" of Guy Fawkes Team, and commanded an A25 Light Tank Mark VIII "Harry Hopkins" in order to comply with the Tankathalon rule stating that all tanks must weigh under 10 tonnes.

Orange Pekoe is a first-year student of St. Gloriana Girls College, and seemingly the vice-commander of the school's Panzerfahren team. Orange Pekoe is a fairly calm and considerate girl who aspires to be like her commander Darjeeling, whom she is often seen beside and is often the victim of some of Darjeeling's (unintentional) torture methods. While Darjeeling has a tendency to recite memorable quotes, Orange Pekoe is often unsure of their meaning and is only aware of their sources due to memorizing such. While Orange Pekoe is known to break her composure far easier than Darjeeling, she has made it her personal goal to be seen as successful by her upperclassman, and it is for this reason that she leads the Tankathalon team Chindits, in order to learn how to be as good a commander as her idol; this makes it. During the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, Orange Pekoe was forced to temporarily join Bonple High School's team after losing to them, working with it's commander Jajka to become a stronger individual capable of leading others to victory.

Assam is, alongside Darjeeling and Orange Pekoe, one of the three St. Gloriana Girls College students who are referred to as The Noble Sisters. Assam's main duty in addition to being the gunner of her team's Churchill Mk.VII, is to be a reconnaissance agent, being the sole member of St. Gloriana's "GI6" (Data Processing Department, Section 6) department. Because of this role, Assam is incredibly knowledgeable both in regards to the tanks fielded by other schools as well as how skilled the other Panzerfahren participants are. Assam is notably quieter than Darjeeling and Orange Pekoe, whom she spends most of her time with, but acts as the straight man whenever Darjeeling gets too excited (often at the expense of Orange Pekoe and herself). Because of this she is often seen as the most "normal" (and refined) of St. Gloriana's Panzerfahren team, though she has a love for jokes and an unusual sense of humour that only few (including Hana Isuzu of Ōarai and Kay of Saunders) are able to enjoy.

Rosehip is a first-year student of St. Gloriana Girls College, and a member of the school's Panzerfahren team. Rosehip comes from a large family of eighteen (made up primarily of boys), and because of this has an incredibly energetic (and often hyper) personality as a result of trying to avoid being the last one in her family to do anything. Because of this personality Rosehip acts as a stark contrast to the refined members of St. Gloriana's Panzerfahren team, though her lack of care in regards to what is "proper" or whether outsiders may approve of her actions makes her a valuable asset to the team in the eyes of it's commander, Darjeeling. Despite these traits however, Rosehip does strive to be as polite and elegant as her classmates and regularly has lessons with Darjeeling in order to learn how to do so; she also speaks in a way that mimics the speech patterns of high society girls by ending her sentences in ですわ (desu wa). Rosehip loves speed and will often run wherever she needs to go; it is for this reason that Darjeeling had a speed governor installed on her tank, though Rosehip is allowed to disable it in the most crucial of moments. Rosehip serves alongside Orange Pekoe as a member of the Chindits Tankathalon team, who temporarily became members of Bonple High School's team during the Cauldron Tournament.

Rukuriri is a student of St. Gloriana Girls College, and one of the main members of it's Panzerfahren team. Rukuriri describes herself as a calm and composed individual, not unlike the other students of St. Gloriana, but in reality she seems unable to keep as cool as the likes of Darjeeling and the other Noble Sisters. In particular, Rukuriri has a somewhat narcissistic personality as she often looks down on (and thus underestimating) her Panzerfahren opponents despite often falling for any trick that they may play on her. Despite these traits, Rukuriri is a competent tank commander who is skilled at coming up with ways to maneuver on a level similar to that of her opponents despite riding in a slower tank. She harbours an antagonistic relationship with Ōarai Girls' Academy's Duck Team, who has successfully managed to fool Rukuriri whenever the two schools clash.

Nilgiri is a student of St. Gloriana Girls College, and a commander of one of the school's Matilda tanks. Like most of the other students of St. Gloriana Nilgiri typically presents herself in a polite and formal manner, and is fairly quiet even in comparison to the other members of her Panzerfahren team. Notably however, Nilgiri seems to be a very anxious and clumsy individual, as her tank is often immobilized fairly early whenever she partakes in a battle. She thinks highly of The Noble Sisters that lead St. Gloriana's Panzerfahren team, and appears to possesses a particularly high amount of respect for Assam due to her intelligent nature and excellent strategies.

Kay is the overall commander of Saunders University High School's Panzerfahren team. A playful and free-spirited girl, Kay stands out among the commanders of many other Panzerfahren teams for not competing to win but instead merely to have fun. To this end, Kay is willing to give her team a disadvantage if it meant playing fairly. Despite being a fairly upbeat girl however, Kay may often act somewhat rude and boastful towards her opponents, though she means no ill-will in this. Kay is a glutton who eats large portions at incredible speeds, and particularly loves hamburgers and chicken steaks. With brown hair Kay bears a strong resemblance to El of Blue Division High School's Panzerfahren team, and she has even fooled some of that school's students simply by darkening her hair.

Alisa is the vice-commander of Saunders University High School's Panzerfahren team and the commander of the Flying Tankers Tankathalon team. Alisa is known for being a manipulative girl with an extremely short temper, something which easily unnerves her crew mates as she loses her composure often and is prone to mental breakdowns whenever things turn against her; she also loses her composure at any mention of a boy named Takashi, whom she tries to impress during each match but never seems able to. Alisa is also incredibly competitive, a stark contrast to her commander, and often stretches the rules of Panzerfahren as far as possible in order to win; she has modified the radio in her tank to allow her to tap into her enemy's communication lines seemingly without Kay's knowledge. Because of her personality and the fact that she disregards what could be considered moral, many of her opponents liken Alisa to a princess, particularly a spoiled one. During the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, Alisa was forced to join Centipede Team after being defeated by them in the first round, and later teamed up alongside Bonple High School and the Chindits of St. Gloriana during the second.

Naomi is a student of Saunders University High School, who appears to act as the right-hand woman to the Panzerfahren team's commander. A stark contrast to the playful Kay and competitive Alisa, Naomi is a calm individual who appears to never lose her composure. Frequently chewing bubble gum, Naomi always appears to be in a relaxed, yet alert, state and is always willing to follow the orders issued to her by her commanders. Possibly because of the differences in personality, Naomi is known to play pranks on Alisa fairly frequently in an attempt to get a rise out of her; this almost always results in an explosion of emotions from Alisa however. Naomi is often described as attractive (typically in a masculine way) by her classmates, and is known to literally sweep girls off their feet in order to play up this side of herself.

Helmet-chan is the nickname of a member of Saunders University High School's Panzerfahren team and the vice-commander of the Flying Tankers Volunteer Army that competes in Tankathalon. Helmet-chan is often forced to be an unwilling comrade to Alisa, who serves as her commander in both Panzerfahren and Tankathalon matches, and is usually the one who is forced to listen to whatever outbursts may result from Alisa's mental breakdowns or proud planning. Helmet-chan is fairly quiet and a hard worker, thus whenever Alisa loses composure she tends to just sigh and continue focusing on her work.

Chiyomi Anzai, better known by her nickname Anchovy, is the Duce (leader) of Anzio Girls' High School's Panzerfahren teams. Though she is hot-blooded and self-confident, Anchovy is anything but a rude woman as she acts courteous towards her opponents and even throws parties for both the opposite team and the staff of the Panzerfahren Federation that oversee the match. While Anchovy is determined to claim victory, she is able to admit when she has been defeated and to own any mistake that she (and, more frequently, those she commands) may make in battle. As Anzio prides itself on the upbringing of girls who stay true to themselves, Anchovy sees this as somewhat of a deterrent to her team's enthusiasm of Panzerfahren as her team frequently end up focusing more on food than the battle in front of them; this even extends to Anchovy in some ways, though to a much lesser extent. She single-handedly revived Anzio's Panzerfahren team after she enrolled in the school, and also leads her team in Tankathalon matches in order to raise more funds for her team (as they always end up wasting their money on snacks).

Carpaccio is one of the two vice-commanders of Anzio Girls' High School's Panzerfahren and Tankathalon teams. Carpaccio is a sweet and polite girl whose quieter nature serves to balance her more excitable commander Anchovy and fellow vice-commander Pepperoni. Carpaccio is extremely good childhood friends with a member of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren club, Caesar. Caesar and Carpaccio have an extremely good relationship that extends to them being friendly rivals while in battle, which is fitting considering both of them act as loaders for their respective teams. It is entirely possible Carpaccio's feelings towards her friend may be more romantic than platonic, as she frequently wishes to sneak onto Ōarai's school ship in order to see Caesar and her friends frequently call her "honest" in regards to her feelings for Caesar. Still, Carpaccio is loyal to her friends at Anzio, in particularly her Duce, Anchovy. Carpaccio's real name is Hina, though only Caesar refers to her by this name; consequently Carpaccio similarly refers to Caesar by her real name of Taka as well.

Pepperoni is a student of Anzio Girls' High School and serves alongside Carpaccio as one of the two vice-commanders of the school's Panzerfahren team. Pepperoni is a highly energetic extrovert who has an "act first, think later"-type attitude and thus can come off as somewhat dull at times. Though she can easily make mistakes due to not thinking things through fully, Pepperoni appears to be talented when it comes to commanding others - something that is shown through her being one of the vice-commanders of the Panzerfahren team. Her greatest skill however comes in the fact that Pepperoni is an incredibly talented chef, who often runs one of the many food stalls that the Anzio girls set-up in their free time. While all both she and Carpaccio carry knife sheathes on their uniforms, Pepperoni's is the only real one as Carpaccio's just holds a comb; Pepperoni uses this tool for cutting meat when preparing meals.

Amaretto is one of the many girls who serves as a member of Anzio Girls' High School's Panzerfahren team that was revived by their Duce, Anchovy. Amaretto is an aggressive and highly competitive girl who takes the reputation of her school and her team extremely seriously, becoming angered at even the slightest hint that people think poorly of them. While she can be smug and vain to some extent, Amaretto is a kind girl at heart who wishes the best for her friends. Still, while loyal to her Duce (leader), Anchovy, she is honest about her feelings and thus can easily disregard orders or simply leave in midst of a conversation. She also appears to be a romantic, as she briefly flirted with Yuuki Utsugi during the short period of time when she (and most of Anzio's Panzerfahren team) transferred to Ōarai Girls' Academy.

"Drifting Snow" Katyusha is a student of Pravda Girls' High School, and the overall commander of the school's Panzerfahren team. Despite Katyusha's diminutive stature (being the shortest high school student known to participate in Panzerfahren), she is among the eldest members of her team (and in the overall high school division), being a third-year student whose birthday falls in late January. However, Katyusha is not known to act her age, instead being very much like a child in all aspects. Due to being shorter than both her allies and opponents, Katyusha desires to look down on her enemies (or to intimidate her teammates) and can often be founding riding on the shoulders of her vice-commander Nonna. This act also stems from Katyusha's arrogant personality, which is backed up by her genius tactical and manipulation skills, intelligence, and the power of her team's forces. Katyusha is however still very childlike in mind, just as she is in body, and will frequently boast to others and openly vent her sadness or anger should things not go her way (and, likewise, deny such acts out of a childish embarrassment). Despite her appearance, Katyusha is incredibly strong for her size as she has proven to be able to withstand (and defeat) three girls, all of whom were taller than her, in physical combat with only minor injuries. In addition to commanding Pravda's Panzerfahren, she is also the "anonymous" (masked) commander of the Tankathalon team known as The Polite Girls. Following the battle that pitted Ōarai Girls' Academy and the combined forces of multiple Panzerfahren teams against the All-Stars University Team, Katyusha grew particularly close to some of the other members of the Sunflower Team she served as vice-commander of, in particular befriending Kuromorimine's Erika Itsumi and the members of Ōarai's Leopon Team.

"Blizzard" Nonna is the vice-commander of Pravda Girls' High School's Panzerfahren team. Nonna is known for being a gentle and calm woman who is rarely seen from the side of Pravda's commander, Katyusha. In fact, among every member of Pravda's Panzerfahren team team, none are more loyal to their commander than Nonna is, as the two of them share a very close bond. Nonna dotes on Katyusha much like a mother would (and in some instances is known to even claim she is Katyusha's mother), and is the only person who seems to be able to treat Katyusha like the child she appears to be without bringing her ire. In fact, while Nonna and Katyusha are exceptionally close, Katyusha tends to be extremely weary of Nonna whenever she believes to have done something that may have wronged her; again, a comparison can be drawn between Nonna acting as Katyusha's mother in these circumstances. She can often be found giving Katyusha piggyback rides wherever she needs to go, something which she initially suggested they do in order to get people to treat Katyusha's ideas with respect. Outside of her very close relationship to Katyusha however, Nonna does not seem to interact with others fairly often, and is only known to converse with the transfer student Klara as they both hail from Russia. Nonna also serves as one of the vice-commanders for Katyusha's "Polite Girls" Tankathalon team, though wears a mask in an attempt to hide her identity while doing so. She is, no matter what tank she may be in command of, also known to be an incredible gunner who rarely misses any shot she takes.

Klara is a student of Pravda Girls' High School, and one of the most prominent members of the school's Panzerfahren team. Klara transferred to Pravda from Novosibirsk, Russia, and (much to the ire of her commander, Katyusha) frequently speaks Russian with her vice-commander Nonna while participating in a battle. Despite transferring to Pravda some time after the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, Klara managed to prove her skill in Panzerfahren within a short period of time in order to quickly become one of Katyusha's most-trusted allies, and as such Klara can frequently be found alongside her commander and vice-commander. Klara is very similar to Nonna in many regards, being fairly calm and composed while also possessing a great loyalty (and adoration) for Katyusha, but in one way that they differ is their ability to socialize with others. While Nonna rarely associates with anyone other than her commander, Klara has no difficulties speaking with other Pravda students or even members of other Panzerfahren teams. Alongside Nonna, Klara serves as one of the vice-commanders of the Polite Girls Tankathalon team, though covers the lower half of her face in an attempt to mask her identity while doing so.

Nina is a first-year student of Pravda Girls' High School who is often recognized by the brown Ushanka hat she always wears. Nina is a very naive and innocent girl who can easily fall for the tricks of others; this was shown prominently during the semi-finals match of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament when she was easily deceived by two disguised members of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team, falsely believing them to be some of her upperclassmen. Just as she is easy to take advantage of, Nina is also a very clumsy girl whose mistakes are known to frequently draw unwanted attention from her commander, Katyusha. However, despite Nina often being seen as a "punching bag" of sorts for Katyusha to unleash her anger upon, she is also one of the members of Pravda's team that Katyusha respects most. In fights, Nina is capable of thinking in the same way as Katyusha, making decisions that match those of her commander; however, she is almost too good at assuming Katyusha's mindset as she tends to make the exact same mistakes as she would. The respect that Katyusha has for Nina is exemplified in the fact that she was designated the commander of the Tankathalon team known as Katyusha's Volunteer Army, which is an ironic name considering she was forced into such a role without a choice.

Alina is a student of Pravda Girls' High School. Alina serves alongside Nina as one of the loaders for her school's KV-2 tank, and thus the two are frequently seen together even should they not be participating in Panzerfahren at the time. Compared to her friend, Alina is much more confident and cheerful, and tends to be the one who boosts Nina's morale. Alternatively she also tends to be the one to point out how easy it is to trick Nina, displaying far more tactical awareness and a cooler head than her comrade. Alina is in general a more adventurous spirit who is willing to suggest that her team take risks or sacrifice their tank should it be benefitial in the long run. She is the vice-commander of Katyusha's Volunteer Army, though contrary to it's name she was forced into having to join this Tankathalon team. For Tankathalon events Alina, like Nina, instead commands a T-70 due to Tankathalon prohibiting any vehicle that weighs over 10 tonnes from participating.

Maho Nishizumi is the overall commander of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team, and a third-year student of the school. Maho is the older sister of Ōarai Girls' Academy's commander Miho Nishizumi, and the successor to the Nishizumi family and it's traditional style of Panzerfahren. To most Maho is seen as a cold and stoic commander who has excellent leadership and tactical skills, a reflection of the Nishizumi Style's focus on precision and a brutal defensive-based strategy that can come off to most as villainous. These traits are pushed to the forefront by Maho in order to protect her younger sister Miho however, wishing the shoulder the burden of their mother's expectations entirely in order to allow Miho to live life as she wishes. Thus, underneath her cold exterior, lies a kind and caring heart who wishes to be more sociable. Due to her tendency to say only what is important, in addition to the strictness of her fighting style and Kuromorimine as a whole, it is easy for others to mistake the intentions of Maho when outside of battle; this is heightened by her lack of experience when it comes to interacting with others on a personal level. Maho has also taken an interest in Tankathalon, and was asked to participate in the Cauldron Tournament by Darjeeling. During this time she commanded a Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. F and wore a disguise to hide her true identity; though this was Darjeeling's idea to begin with, the St. Gloriana commander ruined her efforts by vetoing her idea to go by "Siegfried Mask" and instead giving Maho the alias "Nishizumi Mask".

Erika Itsumi is a second-year student of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy. Erika serves as the vice-commander of the school's Panzerfahren team, and is to assume the position of commander once Maho graduates. A student of Kuromorimine's middle and high school divisions, Erika has always strove to be seen as an equal to Maho Nishizumi, whom she always admired. However Erika's adoration for Maho is seen by the latter to be one of greatest weakness (alongside a fairly arrogant personality and short temper), as Maho believes that Erika puts too much faith in the Nishizumi Style and worries that she may not be able to hold Kuromorimine's team together once Maho leaves. Similarly, Erika's devotion to Maho also caused her to dislike her younger sister Miho, who actually could stand next to Maho; Erika and Miho have had a rocky relationship since middle school, with Erika becoming especially furious when Miho transferred out of Kuromorimine after claiming to be done with Panzerfahren completely, only to show up once more as the commander of Ōarai's team. Erika also serves as the commander of Kuromorimine's Tankathalon team, Schwarzwald Kampfgruppe.

Koume Akaboshi is a second-year student of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy. Among the members of Kuromorimine's Panzerfahren team, Koume stands out for being a remarkably strong individual with a kind and polite personality. During the final match of the 62nd National Tournament, Koume and her crew almost lost their lives when the ground under their tank collapsed and they fell into water; Miho Nishizumi, the team's vice-commander, jumped into the water in an attempt to save the lives of these girls and in doing so cost Kuromorimine the tournament win and breaking their nine-year winning streak. Though the other members of her crew were forced to transfer out of Kuromorimine for costing them the win, Koume remained a part of the team as she believed doing so would allow her to see her friend Miho again and to make up for the mistakes that her crew and vice-commander made during the tournament. Despite her rocky relationship with the rest of her Panzerfahren team however, Koume is one of Maho Nishizumi's most trusted allies due to her strong resolve and mental fortitude; in cases when Maho knows Erika's admiration for her would cloud her judgement, she would often ask Koume to make decisions for her. Koume is also trusted enough to be appointed the vice-commander of the Schwarzwald Kampfgruppe Tankathalon team.

Emi Kojima is a student of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy and a member of the school's Panzerfahren team. Emi is a kind girl whose greatest fault lies in the fact that she is easily irritated. While a very talented leader, Emi blames herself for any mistake that her team may make and become extremely depressed when in danger; during her most desperate times, Emi often calls out for her mother. Still, she is a pleasant girl who is able to socialize with her friends easily and generally among the more positive higher-ranking members of her team. Sheska is a German transfer student attending Kuromorimine Girls' Academy. Originally a very optimistic person, Sheska became bitter as she sought revenge against Emi Nakasuga, whose bad attitude tore apart the Panzerfahren team of her previous school. While she believes Emi to embody all of the worst aspects of Panzerfahren, Sheska strives to be everything that the Bellwall commander wasn't back in Germany: in particularly, Sheska believes heavily in teamwork and building trust with others, thinking that the best way to accomplish any goal is to have everyone act on their strengths. Despite this, her desire to get revenge for her old school's team has driven her to take on some of the qualities she herself hates, becoming hot-headed and acting directly on her own ideas. Thus Sheska often causes trouble for her upperclassmen and must often be reigned in by Erika Itsumi and Koume Akaboshi.

A stark contrast to Erika's serious demeanour, Leila is a positive and cheerful girl who is can be reliable when she needs to help her friends. However, just as how Erika admires Maho Nishizumi to an incredible degree, Leila similarly admires Erika's strength and is always the first to cheer on her best friend in even the worst situations. Maho Nishizumi deemed her one of the weaker members of Kuromorimine's Panzerfahren team, having her sit on the bench for many of the official matches and tournaments; she is not lonely in this position, as she cheers on her school alongside Ren Maaru and Natsumi, who were similarly asked to act as back-up members.

Kinuyo Nishi is a second-year student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy and the overall commander of the school's Panzerfahren team. Kinuyo is a polite girl who grew up in a very sheltered and traditional home, thus she lacks knowledge of how a lot of technology is operated. She cares deeply for all her friends, and is always willing to take the blame for their mistakes during a battle; for these reasons Kinuyo is extremely popular among her classmates. Kinuyo is not without many glaring flaws, especially when it comes to being the commander of her team. Kinuyo is somewhat scatterbrained and forgetful, as she often overlooks certain details that can be crucial in the long run. Additionally she is not the most skilled when it comes to communicating, and her teammates frequently ignore her orders to instead pursue the "charge headfirst into danger" strategy that Chi-Ha-Tan is known (and mocked) for.

Fukuda is a first-year student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy, a member of her school's Panzerfahren team, and the commander of Chi-Ha-Tan's Tankathalon team. Fukuda is a shy and reserved girl who lacks a fair bit of confidence in herself and her ideas, and thus she frequently tries to emulate her more energetic Panzerfahren comrades. Among her teammates however, Fukuda stands out among them as the most tactically-inclined, despite sometimes wanting to follow her teammates to certain defeat in order to uphold Chi-Ha-Tan's "honour". Knowing that Chi-Ha-Tan's tendency to charge into battle without a plan is their greatest flaw, Fukuda acts as the team's strategist in an attempt to help them actually work together and cooperate, and proposed coming up with different "charges" that are, in reality, just simple combat maneuvers renamed so that they'd be accepted by her friends. She holds Ōarai Girls' Academy's Duck Team in high regards, addressing them collectively as "Duck-dono" and giving each member strange duck-related nicknames; it is from them that she learned the strength of willpower and cooperation that allowed her to propose new strategies.

Haru Tamada is a second-year member of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy's Panzerfahren team. Though Haru is officially the vice-commander of her team, it is not uncommon for her to take full command from Kinuyo Nishi during battle. She is an excitable and impulsive girl who believes heavily in Chi-Ha-Tan's Panzerfahren traditions, often being the one to command her friends to sacrifice themselves with the school's signature "charge blindly into battle" mentality. Thus she also highly respects her school and it's legacy, becoming infuriated whenever someone should criticize her team's signature style. Haru is still considered a talented commander by her peers however, and is a close friend of Kinuyo's despite overpowering her orders during battle. Haru is known for being able to fall asleep anywhere when she is tired, even in the most inconvenient of situations or locations such as while soaking her feet or on the floor of a train.

Hosomi is a student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. Ever the optimist, Hosomi is a cheerful girl who dislikes it when the morale of her friends lowers, thus she always makes it a point to keep everyone cheerful in every situation. One of the main ways she has fun is by pulling pranks on her friends (mainly Fukuda) or by trying to make them embarrassed in order to distract them from any serious matters; one of her favourite pranks comes in the form of hiding different items in the swirls of her hair, most notably creepier items such as fake eyeballs or treats. Like most of her friends on Chi-Ha-Tan's Panzerfahren team Hosomi can be impulsive and somewhat lacking in tactical sense, being a blind believer of the traditional "charge first" mentality upheld by her school and thus often running headfirst into danger with no chance of survival.

Mika is the overall commander of Jatkosota High School's Panzerfahren team, and was considered the team's "ace" by it's previous commander Touko. Mika's two crewmates Aki and Mikko consider her to be similar to St. Gloriana's Darjeeling, as the two share many of the same personality traits. Mika is a refined and generally calm girl who has a tendency to speak cryptic proverbs; though while Darjeeling often quotes authors, Mika's proverbs are of her own creation and generally revolve around the wind. Mika is primarily known for the hat she wears based upon that of Väinämöinen from Finnish folklore - she is known to break her otherwise invincible composure only should someone take her hat from her - as well as the wooden kantele she always carries and is skilled at playing. Mike is often regarded as Jatkosota's oddest student due to these traits, with her two crewmates being among the few that regularly associate with her. Beneath Mika's elegant exterior however lays a cunning thief, who has no qualms with taking things both from her friends or enemies before disappearing without a word; during the match between Ōarai Girls' Academy (and members from several other schools, including herself) and the All-Stars University team, Mika plundered some food from the latter team and left by bat before the match even concluded.

Aki is a member of Jatkosota High School's Panzerfahren team, and can often be found alongside her commander Mika. Aki is a cheerful and generally innocent girl who can be seen as Mika's right-hand woman, being the one most frequently by her side. Just as Mika can be seen as similar to St. Gloriana's Darjeeling, Aki shares several personality traits with Orange Pekoe. Like Orange Pekoe, Aki is the one most frequently bothered by Mika's odder traits and being confused about the strange sayings that Mika has a tendency to say. Aki can be seen as more generous and caring than Mika, often asking her commander if they should help their allies and being worried when she gets a nonsensical answer, though she still has no qualms about Mika's tendency to steal from others as long as she is not the target.

Mikko is a student of Jatkosota High School, and a driver for their Panzerfahren team. Compared to her teammates Mikko is a very quiet girl who tries to keep up a cool impression. She is not docile however, and is quite hotblooded and excitable when behind the wheel of the BT-42 she controls. Mikko is an extraordinarily talented driver who can easily steer her tank even should the treads be knocked off, though she can also be quite reckless in her actions. She is very confident in her skills and, like Mika, just seems to enjoy going through life at her own pace.

Marie is the current commander of BC Freedom High School's Panzerfahren team. As BC Freedom High School is a school born from the merger of two distinct schools that get along with each other extremely poorly, Marie's goal is to unite the Escalator and Examination factions under Panzerfahren and seems to be trusted by both factions (to some extent) despite being a member of the former. While Marie's two vice-commanders are extremely hot-headed and known to quarrel easily, Marie is instead refined and is often the one tasked with having to put of the flames of combat that may arise due to the two factions' differences; in order to do this, Marie often comes up with extremely creative plans that hint that she possesses a greater amount of intelligence than most realize. However, likely due to the more-affluent nature of the Escalator faction, Marie has a tendency to appear condescending or spoiled to others, something which she herself seems ignorant to. Marie's most notable trait comes in her love for sweets - it is extremely rare for her to be seen without a cake in her hand, even during a match.

Rena Andou is a vice-commander of BC Freedom High School's Panzerfahren team and the leader of the school's Examination faction. Rena holds a deep hatred for the Escalator students that look down on her and the other members of the Examination faction for their less-refined personalities, and as such has an extremely short temper when dealing with them; this extends even to her commander Marie, whom she seems to respect more than the other Escalator students if only by a little. Thus it is extremely easy for her to become enraged and break the shaky truth holding the two factions together through Panzerfahren. She is able to put aside this attitude should victory be on the line however, though she will still blame whatever mistakes may be made on the members of the opposing faction.

Ruka Oshida is one of the two vice-commanders of BC Freedom High School's Panzerfahren team. Ruka is, much like the commander of her team, a member of the more-affluent Escalation faction that looks down upon the members of the Examination faction, though greatly differs from them in the fact that Ruka seems to care little for her outward appearance. While the members of the Escalator faction seem to generally be fairly posh individuals, Ruka has a tendency to lose her temper easily when dealing with students from the faction she and her peers look down on; thus she has an extremely tenuous relationship with the team's other vice-commander, Rena Andou. She and Rena are known to quarrel with each other fairly frequently, and Ruka is quick to blame the Examination students whenever a mistake should be made in the midst of battle. Still, Ruka is willing to put aside the differences between her and the Examination students when victory is on the line, even if this truce is extremely shaky and easy to break.

Asparagus is the former commander of BC Freedom High School's Panzerfahren team, though has since stepped down from participating in Panzerfahren and Tankathalon matches. Asparagus is a strict and serious girl with incredible leadership qualities, whose interest in Tankathalon grew out belief that the unruly sport was "a nice solution for stress." Though she was initially hostile towards the former members of BC High School that merged into Freedom High School, Asparagus made it her mission to assist in ending the division between these two factions and bring unity to, at the very least, the unified BC Freedom High School Panzerfahren team. After stepping down from her role as a participant in Panzerfahren matches, Asparagus continues to work behind the scenes in that community: she designed the blue and white uniforms that BC Freedom's Panzerfahren team now wears (in an attempt to unify both factions in mind and appearance), and assisted Darjeeling in managing the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament that the St. Gloriana commander set up. She is extremely dedicated to Panzerfahren and the dream of bringing unity to her school, resting at nothing to put her ideals aside. She is known for her trademark saying "Zamasu!"

Bordeaux is the former vice-commander of BC Freedom High School's Panzerfahren team, and one of the two current commanders of the school's Tankathalon team. Despite Bordeaux hailing from BC High School prior to the school's merging with Freedom High School, Bordeaux does not treat the students of her opposing faction as harshly as many of her comrades do; both due to the Freedom High School students having more say within her team and because Bordeaux is fairly close with the team's commander, though her relationship with Asparagus was initially quite rocky and only strengthened as the desire to unite the two factions of BC Freedom strengthened. Though Bordeaux can come off as condescending and sarcastic at times, she is a fairly nice individual who cooperates well with others though has trouble speaking in front of large crowds.

Moule is the former vice-commander of BC Freedom High School's Panzerfahren team, serving as the leader of the Freedom faction students alongside Asparagus. Like her commander, Moule is generally a serious and stoic woman in battle, and proves herself extremely reliable as she was chosen to lead BC Freedom's Tankathalon team with Bordeaux. While Moules continually proves herself to be a talented commander, this is hinted to be because she greatly admires Asparagus. She is loyal to her friend Asparagus, almost to a fault, and highly respects her tactical knowledge and general personality. Of the three most notable members of BC Freedom's Fifth Republic Platoon Tankathalon team, Moule is easily the most easygoing outside of battle, frequently being the one to bring up the morale of Asparagus and Bordeaux, and generally just being quite friendly to others.

Éclair is a second-year student of Maginot Girls' Academy and the current commander of the school's Panzerfahren team. Prior to Éclair becoming the team's commander, Maginot was a school known for traditionally using defensive tactics in combat above all else; though these plans would often cause the school to lose any conflict they entered. Fed up with the traditions imposed upon her, Éclair's goal is to change their defensive style of fighting into a new mobile one she dubs the "Saint-Cyr" style. Despite her ambitions however, Éclair is still fairly new to the role of commander, having won a duel against the team's previous leader, Madeleine, earlier in the year. Though she initially desired to abandon the traditions simply out of an impulsive desire for victory, Éclair has since grown into one who uses each defeat in order to learn new tactics and find flaws in her strategies, something she does through repeated watches of the battle recordings. Alongside her right-hand woman Fondue, Éclair entered into the Tankathalon scene and participated in the Cauldron Tournament arranged by Darjeeling, where she found her first win using the Saint-Cyr style in battle against Viggen High School.

Fondue is a student of Maginot Girls' Academy. Fondue serves as the right-hand woman to Éclair, the commander of Maginot's Panzerfahren team, and is fiercely loyal to her commander. Fondue acts as a secretary of sorts for Éclair, filling out paperwork and both scouting for new opponents to train against and scouting their known tactics and line-up. Though she is dedicated to seeing through the success of Éclair's new Saint-Cyr style, Fondue is also known for being somewhat blunt in regards to failures and flaws in plans. Éclair seems to trust Fondue immensely, a trust that Fondue returns as well.

Galette is a member of Maginot Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team, though her remaining on the team is not by choice. Galette was particularly close with the former commander of Maginot's Panzerfahren team, Madeleine, and was devastated when Madeleine left the sport after she was defeated in battle against Éclair. Like Madeleine, Galette believed heavily in the traditional defensive fighting style of Maginot's Panzerfahren team, and as such acts hostile towards Éclair and her attempts to reform these strategies into one that could actually result in a victory. Initially she remained a member of the Panzerfahren team after being ordered to by Madeleine, who wanted her to assist Éclair in achieving her goals in her stead, though she later warmed up to Éclair's plans during an exhibition match against Ōarai Girls' Academy.

Emi Nakasuga is the "manager" (overall commander) of Bellwall Academy's Panzerfahren team. When she was 10 years old, Emi spent a summer re-investing herself in Panzerfahren after slowly becoming friends with her classmates Miho Nishizumi, Hitomi Yuzumoto, and Chihiro Yusa, during which time she served as the team's driver; though she was initially hostile towards Miho due to her older sister's cold attitude during battles. At the end of the summer however, Emi returned to Germany, both in order to grow stronger and to find out what Panzerfahren truly meant to her. Emi transferred to Bellwall Academy after hearing that the school was looking for new members for it's Panzerfahren team, though once she gets to the school she learns that the situation is fire more dire than what was let on. After being able to reunite with her friend Hitomi, Emi brings together the two factions of Bellwall's Panzerfahren team that had been fractured after the sudden leaving of the team's former commander, bringing them together as a team after proving to them that Panzerfahren is a sport that should be about teamwork rather than hostilities. It is said that Emi was quite arrogant and selfish during her time in Germany, though once she transfers to Bellwall she begins acting in a much more cheerful and cooperative way thanks to the new (and old) friends there. Emi considers Miho to be her friendly rival in Panzerfahren, and it is her drive to beat the Ōarai commander that she strives to improve herself.

Hitomi Yuzumoto is the official vice-commander of Bellwall Academy's Panzerfahren team. As a child, Hitomi was known for frequently getting invested in and then subsequently losing interest in hobbies, often switching through different phases at a rapid pace. When she became friends with her classmates Miho Nishizumi and Emi Nakasuga, Hitomi's longtime friend Chihiro Yusa was worried that Hitomi would similarly lose interest in Panzerfahren after they began to bond over the sport. Six years later however, Hitomi remained the sole active member of Bellwall Academy's Panzerfahren following the fracture caused by the previous commander leaving the school. Nicknamed "Tank Geek", Hitomi was known for constantly working on the one tank they kept in the team's old garage. Once she managed to reunite with her childhood friend Emi Nakasuga, Hitomi worked with her to fix the broken club and bring the two halves back together under a single banner, something they managed to achieve quite easily. During the second round of the Commemorative Club, Hitomi was forced to act as the overall commander for her team after Kuromorimine's Sheska accidentally locked herself and Emi in a warehouse; though Hitomi is not one to take charge of others, she was chosen due to being the only one with any knowledge of Emi's plans for the battle.

Nagisa Shiratori is a student of Bellwall Academy. Prior to the match between Bellwall and West Kureoji Grona Academy, Nagisa was sent by her older sister Kiri to spy on their opponents; thus she transferred to Bellwall Academy. Originally a meek and shy student, Nagisa was never allowed to actually partake in Panzerfahren before transferring to Bellwall as she instead ran errands as the assistant to her sister. This led her to rebel against Kiri Shiratori prior to the match, refusing to leak anymore intel about her new school, and officially banding together with them. Nagisa is easily flustered and can be easily persuaded to do things she may not want to, though these traits begin falling away as she matures as part of Bellwall's Panzerfahren team. As the Commemorative Cup draws closer, Nagisa goes from being uncomfortable with unexpected situations to being far more sociable and possessing a great deal more self-confidence in herself. Nagisa attended the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, joining the audience alongside several of her Bellwall friends in order to cheer on her sister Kiri, who participated in the event.

Takami is a student of Bellwall Academy. Takami is a generally quiet girl who barely speaks, usually only speaking whenever she has something important to say. Despite this however, Takami seems to be one of the most polite students of her school, and generally gets along well with her more cheerful classmates such as Hitomi Yuzumoto and Kita, the latter of whom she is almost always seen with. These traits allow Kita to be a great help when it comes to dealing with strangers, and is also the main reason why she gets along so well with the generally-silent Takami. Neko Yamamori is the leader of one of the two main delinquent groups of Bellwall Academy. Neko is feared by her peers for her intimidating appearance and attitude, being quite aggressive and beating down her opponents so that they submit to her rule. However, while a generally foul individual, she also possesses a kinder side who treats her friends with respect and generally dislikes punishing those who she sees as harmless. Neko has declared herself the commander of Bellwall's Panzerfahren team, appointing Emi Nakasuga as the team's "manager" and relegating all of the commander's duties to her. She generally does not get along with Chifuyu Doi, as the two of them were unable to agree which of them should be appointed the new leader of the Panzerfahren team after the former commander, Jinko Yoshinaga, abandoned them.

Contrasting the more aggressive Neko, Chifuyu intimidates her foes not through an aggressive personality but rather by keeping an eerily calm and steady demeanour throughout any situation that forces those opposing her to cower under her presence. Kanako Kashiwaba and Tsurugiko Kashiwaba are twin sisters attending Bellwall Academy and the president and vice-president respectively of the school's Motor Vehicle Club. The Kashiwaba Sisters are inseperable sisters who hail from an incredibly rich family - Kanako Kashiwaba, who ties her hair on the left side of her head, is elder than Tsurugiko. The Kashiwabas are fairly arrogant rich girls who appear to be quite spoiled, trying to solve any problem that may arise by throwing money at it or simply throwing a tantrum when things don't go their way; because of their wealth, they are the ones who supply the Panzerfahren team with their tanks. Despite their personalities however, the two Kashiwabas are extremely talented engineers who genuinely seem to enjoy working on cars. Prior to Emi Nakasuga transferring to Bellwall, the Kashiwabas were trying to shut down the Panzerfahren club in order to take over the practice grounds for their own club. Emi managed to save the Panzerfahren club by challenging the Kashiwabas to a race, pitting the twins' car against the Panzerfahren team's sole remaining tank. When Emi and Hitomi claimed victory in this challenge, the Kashiwabas were forced to join the Panzerfahren club despite initially disliking tanks. The two sisters call Emi Nakasuga as a "gorilla woman", and in return she refers to the twins as the "Baka-shiwabas". The Kashiwabas can be separated in-game and are only conflated here for the sake of convenience. |

Kiri Shiratori, also known by her self-given nickname of Kilimanjaro, is the overall commander of West Kureoji Grona Academy's Panzerfahren team. To most others, Kiri Shiratori appears to be a cold-hearted and villainous girl who treats others - including her sister Nagisa - with little respect, though in actuality her actions are born out of an intense desperation. Kiri had always greatly admired the commander of St. Gloriana Girls College's Panzerfahren team, Darjeeling, and aspired to be just like her in most regards; to this end she mimics the refined commander's appearance and many of her mannerisms, though lacks Darjeeling's natural composure. As the commander of West Kureoji Grona's team Kiri made it her goal to take part in a battle against Darjeeling's team, hoping to impress (and befriend) the commander that she admired so much. Unfortunately Kiri was also to take over the family's business of running coffee plantations, and was to be forced out of the Panzerfahren world following her graduation in order to enter this work; it is for this reason that she used more underhanded tactics the closer her graduation came. Kiri participated in the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, where she commanded an A17 Light Tank Mark VII Tetrarch instead of her usual Black Prince. During the second round of the tournament, Kiri was placed on Pink Team alongside Darjeeling (who at the time was disguised as "Black Tea Mask"), finally letting her fulfill her dream of fighting alongside the commander she admired so much.

Shizuka is a battle-obsessed girl with a great love for Japan's Sengoku period, and she strives to carry herself in the same way as her ancestors from the Takeda clan. She is highly competitive and takes full advantage of the more-lawless nature of Tankathalon in order to form creative plans as compensation for the fact that her team consists of a single tank. Together with her classmate Shizuka Tsuruki, Rin decided to resurrect Tatenashi's Panzerfahren club that had been disbanded over a decade ago, though as the two of them were the only members they instead set their sights on Tankathalon. Rin is a cheerful girl who was initially easily flustered by Shizuka's decisions and method of command, though she quickly began to change the more time she spent with her new partner. During the Cauldron Tournament, Rin revealed that, like Shizuka, she began to love the thrill of battle and became more excited to grow stronger. When Shizuka Tsuruki formed the Centipede Alliance in order to go up against Bonple High School and determine who would be better suited to fight against Ōarai Girls' Academy's legendary team, Aung was chosen to act as the team's commander after previously taking charge of several Kuromorimine students (including Erika Itsumi and Maho Nishizumi) during the second round of the Cauldron Tournament.

Bosphorus is a student of Kebab High School, and the commander of the school's Panzerfahren and Tankathalon teams. Though Bosphorus is not known to speak often outside of battle, she carries herself in a very refined manner. She greatly respects those that she meets, making Bosphorus a great ally even should she not be in command of her team. Bosphorus and her Panzerfahren team participated in the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, where they were pitted against Darjeeling's "Guy Fawkes Team" during the first round. Though Bosphorus was beaten greatly by the St. Gloriana commander, Bosphorus proved to be humble as she accepted her defeat without issue. During the second round of the tournament, Bosphorus and her team allied with Gregor and West Kureoji Grona's teams in addition to Darjeeling.

Jajka is the overall commander of Bonple High School's Panzerfahren and Tankathalon teams. Jajka is held in extremely high regard within the Tankathalon community, being heralded as the "Queen of Tankathalon" due to the strength of her team and ferocious might. This nickname, as well as that of "Grandmaster", is especially accurate considering Jajka's control over her comrades and generally whatever battle she participates in. She is condescending and a generally arrogant woman who, while she preserves a calm exterior outside of battle, will always play the part of the villain and desire revenge against those who may defeat her. Still, beneath Jajka's sour and stoic persona lays a supportive one reminiscent of that of a big sister, and she can even be supportive of her opponents during practice matches (should she win, of course) as exemplified after a match with Tategoto High School. Jajka is seemingly good friends with her vice-commander, Uszka, despite the two being complete opposites in almost every way.
| |||||||||
Default tank: 7TP || Default role: Tank commander
Uszka serves as second-in-command of Bonple High School's Panzerfahren (and thus, Tankery) team. While engrossed in a battle, Uszka's personality is not unlike that of Jajka's: Uszka can be a ruthless woman skilled at intimidating opponents with skilled maneuvers and overwhelming might. Despite this however, Uszka is an entirely different person whenever she is outside of a tank. Outside of battle, Uszka is a cheerful and extremely bubbly girl who can be especially chatty and sociable with just about anyone. She is extremely hospitable towards guests of Bonple, even should they be spies from other schools; Uszka once quickly saw through the disguise of Ōarai's Yukari Akiyama while she was spying on Bonple, and decided to give her a tour of the school despite knowing the risks it could prove in the future. Still, should the social situation call for it, Uszka is not afraid to let her more-serious side come out in order to intimidate others.

Noemi Kohiyama is a second-year student and member of Count High School's Panzerfahren team. Originally a loader for the team, Noemi was chosen to succeed her upperclassman as the commander of their tank following her graduation. Though Noemi displays at several points that she can be a good leader when need be, she suffers from a lack of confidence that at times great impacts the way her tank operates. When her upperclassman "Witch-senpai" denoted Noemi as her successor, Noemi was initially hesitant to accept this position despite being a fairly charismatic and cooperative girl; it is for these reasons that she was chosen to lead the team that Witch-senpai left behind. Noemi seems to possess some sort of supernatural connection to nature, being able to locate enemy tanks hidden in a forest with a sixth sense. In addition to being a talented member of the Panzerfahren team, Noemi is also an exceptional dancer; she participated in her school's Kalusari Dancing Festival and earned the praise of her friend Anna Masukura for her performance.

Anna Masukura is a second-year student of Count High School. Anna's defining characteristic is her supportive nature, always helping her best friend Noemi Kohiyama and raising her morale whenever she seems worried. In general, Anna is just a very enthusiastic tomboy whose excessive love for her friends can be embarrassing at times. As the driver of her team's tank, Anna shows herself as always able to keep a calm and cool head even in the most dire of circumstances, and possesses far more physical strength than most of her peers, something which allows her to be quite helpful in repairing damaged tanks. Though Anna is known for her cheerful personality, she is also known to become "scary" once she becomes angry; luckily for others, this is a rare occurrence.

Erika Nachigami and Karin Nachigami are twin sisters and members of Count High School's Panzerfahren team. Erika and Karin are members of a family that owns a textile factory over three centuries old, thus having a more successful life than many of their classmates. Despite this, Erika and Karin do not act in an affluent manner; both sisters are shown to be very enthusiastic girls who wish the best for their friends. They are great at keep the morale of her team high and care to help their friends as much as possible. Erika Nachigami's hobby is making sweets for her friends to taste, thus adding to the twins' love of keeping other cheerful. Karin is older than Erika, and the two can be distinguished by which side of their head they wear their bow and hairclips; Karin wears her ribbon and two hairclips on the left side of her head, while Erika mirrors her. The Nachigami Sisters can be separated in-game and are only conflated here for the sake of convenience.

Marina Constantinescu is a third-year student of Count High School and the vataf (overall commander) of the school's Panzerfahren team. Marina is a competetent tactician and strong leader, though some of her better traits are lost in the midst of battle. Instead of relying on her gut instincts, Marina can be quite careless and arrogant as she instead decides to use divinations to create tactics instead of hard facts. When asked about her plans, Marina is known to make condescending comments in response to her allies, but generally does not seem to actually seriously mean these comebacks. Still, Marina's teammates can be somewhat distant from her, something she wishes would change. Marina wishes to be affectionately referred to as Marina-chan by her allies (though only Mizuki Ikarashi does so) and presents herself in a flirtatious or seductive manner in an attempt to get closer with them. Perhaps the main reason Marina was chosen to lead her team comes in her intelligence however; while known for her divination skills (specializing in giving relationship advice to others), Marina is actually one of the top students at Count High School and is known for being quite studious. Marina seems to have an interest in vampires, wearing a hat that gives her a bat-like appearance and being known for biting her teammates on the neck in an attempt to be affectionate.

Mizuki Ikarashi is a third-year student of Count High School. Mizuki is a friendly girl who is very supportive of her teammates, wanting to keep the team's morale high and everyone in the best possible spirits. Likely because of her kind personality, Mizuki wishes to enter the medical field after graduating high school, and is particularly known for being incredibly intelligent because of her aspirations. Unlike most of the other members of Count High School's Panzerfahren team, Mizuki is particularly close to the team's vataf Marina Constantinescu - in addition to being the only person who addresses the vataf as "Marina-chan", Mizuki hopes to remain close with Marina after the two graduate. Mizuki is a capable commander of a tank, and while she is regularly compared to their upperclassman who graduated last year, "Witch-senpai", Mizuki wishes to be a capable commander who stands out for her own qualities and not just by emulating what she has seen. She has a tendency to remain calm in battle by listening to, and humming along with, music.

Alice Shimada is the overall commander of the All-Stars University Panzerfahren Team. Alice is a 12 year-old child prodigy whose incredible intelligence has allowed her to skip high school to become a university student. She serves as the heiress to the Shimada Family, which stands beside the Nishizumi Family as one of the two families that practice their own traditional styles of Panzerfahren. Because of her social standing Alice has a bit of an inferiority complex, believing that her teammates - in particular The Bermuda Trio - only care about her because of her family name and not because of her actual person. Despite the Shimada Style being the main rival of the Nishizumi Style, one of the few true friends Alice feels she has is Miho Nishizumi, and the two quickly bonded over their shared love for the fictional character Boko. Before befriending Miho, Alice believed Boko to be the only real friend she had; this loneliness is the main reason that the two Nishizumi sisters were able to defeat her when Ōarai Girls' Academy was forced into an unfair battle against the All-Stars University Team.

Azumi is a former student of BC Freedom High School, and now serves as a member of the All-Stars University Panzerfahren Team. Azumi is part of a group of girls known as the "Bermuda Trio" who act as the three vice-commanders under Alice Shimada's command. Like the other two members of The Bermuda Trio, Azumi is a heavy drinker and a very poor cook, something that makes them regulars at a particular ramen stall. She cares greatly for Alice Shimada, though it is unknown if this is due to her mother's influence over the school or if she actually cares about Alice herself. Still, Azumi generally fawns over how cute her commander is and seems to treat her as a child outside of battle. Azumi leads the Regimental HQ division of the All-Stars University Team's forces, and has a part-time job as a model.

Megumi is a member of The Bermuda Trio, the three vice-commanders of the All-Stars University Team. Like her close friends Azumi and Rumi, Megumi is a "hard-drinking party girl" and poor cook whose takes a loss for her team extremely poorly, preferring to drown out the disappointment she feels for herself at a local ramen stall. Megumi's party girl-type attitude likely stems from the fact that she was once a student of Saunders University High School, a school that is generally known for having a carefree and wild attitude. Megumi frequently fawns over the child prodigy Alice Shimada who commands the Panzerfahren team she is a member of, though it appears that she does more because she finds her cute most of all. She holds Alice in high regard due to her skills, but more prominently appears to care for her in order to please Alice's mother Chiyo, whom Megumi and the other two members of The Bermuda Trio seem to be quite fearful of.

Rumi is one of the three vice-commanders of the All-Stars University Team, and the leader of the army's B Squadron. Rumi is an intelligent-looking girl who tends to possess a calm demeanour, though she is just as reckless as the other two members of The Bermuda Trio outside of a Panzerfahren match. While her friends Azumi and Megumi are poor cooks, Rumi in fact has little knowledge of how to prepare food, and it is for this reason that she is considered a bad chef. Thus, she can often be found getting drunk and eating ramen at a nearby stall with her friends, opting to forego the need to prepare food instead of improving her skills. Rumi typically fawns over the cuteness of her commander Alice Shimada, and though she admires her intelligence and skill, Rumi still seems to treat her as a kid and not like the university student she wants to be seen as. Rumi formerly attended Jatkosota High School and is familiar with it's current Panzerfahren commander Mika, whom she considered the oddest student of that school.

Shiho Nishizumi is the current head of the Nishizumi family, and the master of the traditional Nishizumi Style of Panzerfahren. The mother of Maho and Miho Nishizumi, Shiho is known for her strict lifestyle that heavily revolves around the Panzerfahren sport, which she believes to be almost sacred. He generally stoic and intense aura causes most of those she associates with to be fearful of her; this includes the friends of her daughters, as well as several higher-ranking members of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation. When it comes to Panzerfahren, Shiho believes nothing is more important than upholding the honour of the Nishizumi Style, and thus only accepts those who can achieve victory in battle. Both of Shiho Nishizumi's daughters have troubled relationships with their mother due to her overbearing personality, especially Miho who was essentially disowned by her mother after causing a great loss for Kuromorimine and, in the eyes of Shiho, tainting the Nishizumi name by using unorthodox strategies as the commander of Ōarai's newly-revived Panzerfahren team. In addition to managing the Panzerfahren team of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy, Shiho is also a member of the Panzerfahren Pro League Committee.

Chiyo Shimada is the current master of the traditional Shimada Style of Panzerfahren and head of the Shimada family. Chiyo is the mother of Alice Shimada, whom she loves more than anything in the world. However, somewhat contradicting the love she shows for her daughter, Chiyo can be a somewhat strict woman who expects great results from her daughter, forcing Alice to often speak to her in a highly respectful, almost cautious, tone. Regardless, Chiyo is a highly intelligent woman who upholds a very calm demeanour at almost every opportunity, only ever showing weakness through her desire to be the best and defeat her eternal rival Shiho Nishizumi. She manages the All-Stars University Team.

Ami Chōno is a Captain of the Japanese Ground Self-Defence Force, who also works as an instructor for the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation and Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team. Instructor Chōno's most notable trait is her daring and incredibly confident personality; when she first introduced herself to the newly-formed Panzerfahren team of Ōarai Girls' Academy, Ami claimed to have a hit rate of 120%, something which is completely impossible. Despite clearly being an experienced and talented tank commander, Instructor Chōno also shows herself to be somewhat reckless and one to jump into situations without much thought. She also served as the announcer for the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, and was mentored by the current head of the Nishizumi Style, Shiho Nishizumi.

Kikuyo Idegami is a maid who works for Shiho Nishizumi, and also a talent scout for the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation. Kikuyo is loyal to the Nishizumi women and cares about Shiho, Maho, and Miho more than anything. She is extremely polite and seems to be fairly intelligent as she frequently gave advice to the young Nishizumi sisters whenever they were troubled. As a talent scout for the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, Kikuyo's main job is to select individuals to represent Japan in the World Panzerfahren Championship. After immediately being given this task, Kikuyo began seeking Miho Nishizumi's childhood friend Emi Nakasuga.

Chihiro Yusa is a childhood friend of Hitomi Yuzumoto, Miho Nishizumi, and Emi Nakasuga. During one summer, Chihiro and her four friends formed a temporary tank crew after learning that Miho's sister was an up-and-coming commander in the Panzerfahren world. In grade school Chihiro acted as a sort of big sister to Hitomi, Miho, and Emi due to her more-mature and level-headed personality, usually being the one to hold the team together and break up whatever arguments may arise. While her three friends continued to partake in Panzerfahren, Chihiro opted to go to a school that focused more on physical sports and thus stopped working with tanks. Though she chose a different path from the others, she still held them close in her heart and took a train to Ōarai in order watch their teams participate in the Commemorative Cup. Despite being a tomboy as a kid, Chihiro eventually became a part-time model while in high school, and is the only one of her childhood friends that has a boyfriend (a fact that particularly annoys Hitomi).

Non-Playable Characters[]
These characters can not be used in battle and instead only appear in the visual novel segments that occur within the Story Mode. This section does not include unnamed characters.
Renta Tsuji is an administrator for the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), being the one who oversees the maintenance of Japan's school ships. Renta can be seen as the main enemy of Ōarai Girls' Academy, in particular the school's Panzerfahren team, as his somewhat mysterious grudge against the school has caused him to use his powers in an attempt to get Ōarai Girls' Academy closed down. Though he does uphold himself in a professional manner, Renta is an incredibly callous and manipulative man who is not above using his position at MEXT to get what he wants. He generally treats high school students with little respect as it is, though is openly quite hostile towards those from Ōarai and believes that their Panzerfahren successes are little more than the result of luck. Renta also seems to possess a short temper despite his cool demeanour, often throwing a fit and letting his furiosity get the better of him whenever his plans are proven unsuccessful.
Shichiro Kodama is the president of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation. Shichiro is a professional man whose main concern is maintaining public support for the Federation, thus many of the decisions he oversees are done so with this intent. However, while familiar and somewhat-comparable to the MEXT administrator Renta Tsuji, Shichiro shows himself to be far more friendly and understanding than the generally-cold man, and supported Ōarai Girls' Academy's efforts to keep MEXT from closing down their school. While an intelligent fellow whose leadership capabilities are uncontested - seemingly having little trouble in managing the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation - he is far less shrewd than many of his peers, and proves himself somewhat naive because of his reactions to such tactics.
Kanon Sasagawa is the head judge for the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, being present at every official Panzerfahren match. Like her fellow judges, Kanon takes being a Panzerfahren judge extremely seriously, acting extremely professional while watching over a battle. The amount she takes care to act professionally is almost comical, generally acting too stoic and emotionless while on the job in an attempt to act as justly and unbiased as possible. Off duty, Kanon remains a strict individual who abides by the rules, but loosens up greatly whenever she begins ingesting alcohol. Kanon appears to hold some contemptment for her superior, Ami Chōno, as she is known to frequently impersonate her behind her back. Her ability to imitate Instructor Chōno is extraordinary, and she greatly resembles the JSDF Captain when she removes her glasses and pulls her bangs forwards.
Remi Takashima is one of the primary judges employed by the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, and is present at virtually every official Panzerfahren match. Like her two partners Kanon Sasagawa and Hibiki Inatomi, Remi acts incredibly serious and professional while on-duty, striving to maintain a lack of bias in order to judge Panzerfahren matches completely fairly. However, while she is generally very professional (almost to a comical degree), she can also be somewhat whimsical during matches, and regularly uses her signal flags to converse with her fellow judges about what to do about meals. Whenever she is not judging a match however, Remi's professional demeanour mostly falls away and she shows herself to be incredibly kind and playful. She is known to humour the desires of some of the Panzerfahren participants, particularly playing along with Pravda Girls' High School's Nonna in believing the girl to be the mother of her commander, Katyusha. Of her own admission, Remi is not talented in Panzerfahren and took up being a judge in order to remain a part of the sport.
Hibiki Inatomi is one of the main judges who oversees every official Panzerfahren match under the jurisdiction of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation. Like her close friends Kanon Sasagawa and Remi Takashima, Hibiki strives to uphold herself in a professional and unbiased manner, and takes her job of overseeing matches incredibly serious. She is more similar to Remi than she is Kanon, being known to converse with the former about dinner plans during matches, and humouring the participants of different Panzerfahren teams, hoping to entertain them just as they entertain her with their matches. Once she removes her gorget however, Hibiki becomes much more playful, and enjoys gossiping with her two fellow judges over alcohol.
Haruka Endou is a student of Tatenashi High School. Though she has no interest in participating directly in Panzerfahren (or Tankathalon), she serves as the manager for the two members of Centipede Team. Haruka's main role is to earn funds for her team through the sale of merchandise, and it is also her duty to pay for the damages that the Centipede Team cause during battle. A business-savvy girl, Haruka shows that she genuinely cares for the two girls of Centipede Team, partly due to being a longtime friend of Rin Matsukaze, and tends to follow the two on whatever strange adventures Shizuka takes them on. Deep down however, Haruka believes that her friend has been "stolen" to some extent by Shizuka Tsuruki, but is quite happy that her friend has finally found enjoyment in life instead of merely going through each day like a phantom as she did previously.
Taiga Ou is a member of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Broadcasting Club. A highly energetic girl, Taiga goes about every day looking for potential scoops she can cover for the school's news program. Because of the prominence of Ōarai's Panzerfahren, Taiga can be found on the scene of many matches, narrating from the sidelines for those not in attendance. In addition to being extremely passionate about her job, Taiga is also a wily businesswoman who, for the right price, sells fake school ID's and uniforms for people wanting to spy on Ōarai's Panzerfahren team. |
Many of the battlefields that appear throughout the Girls und Panzer franchise serve as maps for the player in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II. In comparison to the areas of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, the maps in Dream Tank Match II are generally larger. Thus, while only one of the maps from the original title return in its entirety, most stages are incorporated (at least in part) into these new incarnations. Additionally, all maps feature three variants: daytime, nighttime, and sunset. These versions do not alter the landscape in any way, though the different lighting can change the way situations are approached.
Some Levels feature elements that can be visually damaged/destroyed, but the actual layouts generally can not be altered in any way; aesthetic battle damage does not appear in the Nintendo Switch version. A few levels do feature completely destructible elements that can be used as traps, though these are very situational and are present in only a couple areas.
Stages: |
Behind the building of Ōarai Girls' Academy lays a dense, mountainous forest area that covers a fairly-large portion of the school ship Zuikaku. The battleground is surprisingly open, with a number of wide natural pathways cut through this forested area. Through part of the map's centre cuts a shallow ravine through which a river runs; there are a number of natural pathways around this crater, though there is also a single bridge suspended across it. Players can also access the garage area used by Ōarai Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team, which is a large empty square of dirt next to the hangar where tanks are stored; though fences block off access to the rest of the school area.
The streets of Ōarai, Ibaraki. There are two maps set in Ōarai: the business sector and a residential area. The residential area features thin streets that are difficult to traverse easily surrounded by a street that loops around the east side of the map and down the centre, past a hospital. The residential battle arena takes place within a maze of thin streets that connect to a rocky beach area of uneven terrain. For the business sector, the largest open area is an industrial park near the shore, and a shrine looks down upon the city that players can access through streets leading up a hill and a steep staircase that leads back into town. | Stages:
Stages: |
A series of rocky cliffs that are located on the outskirts of Ōarai, Ibaraki. The battle arena is fairly open, though different levels and uneven terrain make the location difficult to traverse without a tank's treads taking damage. There exists a small stone plateau stretching out of a cliff wall with natural ramps up each side in the centre area of the map.
A golf course surrounded by forests located near Ōarai, Ibaraki. Bordered by tall trees, three holes of the golf course connect together to make up the battle arena. Notably, while the map is generally very flat and easy to traverse, sand traps are present in some locations and can be used as defensive positions. A street next to the golf course is also considered part of the arena, though only a small portion of it can be accessed. | Stages:
Stages: |
The setting of the first round match of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, where Saunders University High School and Ōarai Girls' Academy first fought. The battle arena is comprised of an open grassy field with a forest covering a large portion on the northeastern side of the map. The grassy field that makes up the rest of the map is slightly uneven, and has some hills and dips that allow tanks to split up in order to reach one area.
A forested area that served as the battleground for the second round match of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament. The map is almost completely forested with dirt paths carving out a maze in-between the trees. There is a badlands area in the southern portion of the map, where dirt mounds form natural trenches in the ground that can obscure tank locations. | Stages:
Stages: |
The setting of the semi-finals match of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament between Ōarai Girls' Academy and Pravda Girls' High School. The map consists of a snowy landscape that contains quite a few hills as snow has piled up in different areas. The northern part of the map is a small village surrounding a large open plaza area, and an empty church located here can be used as a defensive position.
A grassland area that makes up part of the Japan Self-Defence Force East Fuji Maneuver Area, which served to begin the finals match of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament. The map is very simple, being a mostly flat plain with hills that border one side of the arena. In the centre of the grassland lays a dense forest, which separates the otherwise flat area into a doughnut-like shape. This forest can be used as a shortcut to reach the other end of the map, though one must maneuver through the trees to do so. | Stages:
Stages: |
An urban environment that served as the final battleground for the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, where Ōarai Girls' Academy put up their last stand against Kuromorimine Girls' Academy. This arena consists of tall buildings that make traversing the area and locating enemy tanks difficult, though two wide streets are present on the map: one passes between the east and west on the southern side of the map, while the other between the north and south on the eastern part of the map. Up a short hill in the centre of the map is a closed building complex where several abandoned structures surround a square arena that is perfect for a decisive battle.
A small forested area located somewhere in Hokkaidō, which served as one of the areas where the All-Stars University Team clashed with the Ōarai Compound Team during the "Battle for Ōarai". A dense forest, this arena consists primarily of four parallel pathways that loop around on each other. This set-up allows tanks to fire at each other through the trees, making it an arena fit for faster vehicles. | Stages:
Stages: |
During the Battle for Ōarai, part of the Hokkaidō-set battle arena took place around a large hill. This arena uses this mound as the focal point of the map, with swampy terrain that extends out around this hill. The river that stretches through part of the map can be a dangerous location as tanks slow to a crawl while travelling through the water.
In the middle of a forest lays a dug-out crater with a cylindrical plateau cutting through the bowl-like landscape. This bowl contains uneven terrain made of dirt, with large hills and mounds of various sizes making the landscape difficult to traverse. Lowered parts of the surrounding forest can be used to reach the top of the plateau in the centre of the map, and two brick bridges connect to the central pillar. The bridges can be shot to destroy it, potentially burying any tanks that may be under it and making access to the centre impossible. | Stages:
Stages: |
The final setting of the battle against the All-Stars University Team in order to save Ōarai Girls' Academy. This amusement park consists of multiple varied landscapes and zones that feature a number of different types of terrain or tactical elements. Some of the different parts of this map include a hedge maze that obscures the location of tanks (despite the fact that the hedges can be easily shot through), a Wild West town with fake buildings that can be destroyed, and a ferris wheel that can be knocked off of it's stand and can crush enemies as it rolls down a nearby hill. The centre of the map features a small plaza area with a fake mountain in the northern part. A roller coaster also extends around the entirely of the park that smaller vehicles can get up onto and use as a lookout platform. Due to the size of the amusement park, it is actually split up into several smaller maps, namely: North (the area surrounding the ferris wheel), South (the Wild West and cityscape area), central plaza, and bocage maze.
A bocage that served as the setting of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup's first-round match between Ōarai Girls' Academy and BC Freedom High School. The mixed grasslands that make up a majority of the stage alternate between being uneven and relatively flat. A river with a wooden bridge suspended over it cuts through part of the map in a circular path, cutting off the southeastern corner of the arena. In the northwest there is a rural environment with some wooden buildings that make up a closed, open-air garden-like area. There are hedges that dot the entire map that smaller tanks can hide behind, though these plant-based walls can also be destroyed with a single shot. | Stages:
Stages: |
The second-round match of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup pitted Ōarai Girls' Academy against Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. The setting for this battle was a tropical jungle-like area. While most of the map is covered in a thick layer of trees, a river that cuts through the map near the southern side separates a more-open area; this river has several natural bridges to allow tanks to cross over it. While the jungle is flatter and harder to navigate however, the open area consists of muddy terrain with craters that can serve as pitfalls if they go unnoticed in time.
An original map created for Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match. Dream Tank Park is a fantastical castle battlefield that consists of three levels for players to traverse. On the ground, players are limited to traversing thin corridors that create a maze with many paths ending at walls. By using ramps, the player can climb up to two additional layers that make up the top of these castle walls, with yellow pathways suspended between some of these structures in order to offer additional pathways for players to use. A single yellow pathway stretches the entire length of the map, north to south, suspended between two triangular structures. | Stages:
Stages: |
Prior to the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, the Yamanishi Prefecture was the setting of a practice match between Maginot Girls' Academy and Ōarai Girls' Academy. The Maginot Girls' Academy Training Grounds consists of three different types of terrain: a forest, a wide open field, and rocky terrain. The map is designed so that each of these three areas connects to each other, with the field being set in the middle with the forest and hilly area branching off in the south.
During the first round of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, Chi-Ha-Tan Academy faced off against Kuromorimine Girls' Academy in a highlands battlefield. This map features a rocky landscape with terrain that is very difficult for heavier tanks to traverse without damaging their treads due to steep cliffs and uneven ground covering the entire battleground. The map has areas with long sight-lines, giving a clear advantage to the team that takes the highlands. | Stages:
Stages: |
The first round of the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament pitted the powerhouse Pravda Girls' High School against Bonple High School, a battle that ended in a clear victory for the former. This battlefield is set in a large field with small rolling hills breaking up the landscape. Notably, there are large sunflower patches that smaller tanks can hide themselves within. |

Anzio Additional Characters Pack[]
The Anzio Additional Characters Pack adds five new playable characters into the game. These five characters are minor, albeit named, background characters who primarily make appearances in the Girls und Panzer: Avanti! Anzio High School manga series. Each of the five characters specialize in being tank commanders of the Carro Veloce CV.33. Once this content is downloaded by the player, these characters replace some of the previously-unnamed members of Anzio's CPU teams.

- Anchovy: Ōarai Uniform (Disguise)
- Caesar: Casual Outfit
- Carpaccio: Ōarai Uniform (Disguise), Casual Outfit
- Pepperoni: Ōarai Uniform (Disguise)
- Yukari Akiyama: Anzio Uniform
Blue Division Content Pack[]
The Blue Division Content Pack introduces a variety of content into the game, all based around the newly introduced Blue Division High School. The DLC package includes three new characters, three tanks, a new map, several Extra Missions, and new content for Domination Mode.
CharactersBlue[]
Blue Division High School is unique among many of the other schools known to practice Panzerfahren, as they do not have a formal team or club due to the school being short on funds. The pack thus only includes three members of the school's small team, all of whom work together to crew a single Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. F: El, the tank's gunner and commander of both the tank and Blue Division's team; Tristana, the tank's radio operator and loader; and Viridiana, the tank's driver.

In addition to their default outfit (the Blue Division Uniform), all three members of Blue Division High School also come with two alternate costumes: the Ōarai and Saunders school uniforms.
TanksBlue[]
Though the three new characters included in the game all crew a Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. F (a tank included in the base game), three additional tanks that are part of Blue Division's roster are included as part of the DLC package. The introduction of the Verdeja II marks the first Spanish tank included in the game. The in-game listings for these tanks are as follows:
All three of these new tanks are classified as Light Tanks.
MapBlue[]
The Blue Division Content Pack includes a new map for the player to battle on. Upon being downloaded, this map can be played on in Free Mode as well as the likes of Tournament Mode where the maps of each battle are randomly selected.
Stages: |
The battlefield is a rocky desert terrain, the same one where Blue Division was pitted against Saunders University High School for the first round of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. The map contains many sharp hills and natural pathways that limit the amount of terrain that tanks can traverse easily, though these hills also provide cover that allow tanks to disappear easily should they wish to evade enemies. |
Extra MissionsBlue[]
Included within the Blue Division Content Pack are 10 new Extra Missions that all see the player take control of the new characters included alongside them.

Cauldron Content Pack[]
The Cauldron Content Pack adds six additional characters from Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior into the game in addition to two new tanks, a new map, and several new Extra Missions. The six new characters are divided into two teams: Team ONI and Maple High School. Once this pack has been downloaded, Maple High School also gains a scenario in Domination Mode. The Cauldron Content Pack is the most expansive DLC pack for the game.
CharactersCauldron[]
The three elderly members of Team ONI once dominated the Panzerfahren league in Europe with their modified tanks and a brutal fighting style that kept them on top. In order to force them out of the Panzerfahren world however, the European Panzerfahren Federation added a rule condemning the use of tanks with fewer than three crewmembers, thus putting an end to their reign of terror. The three women later returned to Japan and began working as mechanics, living on the outskirts of the Tankathalon community and eventually helping Centipede Team train and modify their tankette.

In addition to their default appearances, the three members of Team ONI have alternate costumes that alter their appearances to match those of their younger selves.
The three students of Maple High School are Amber, Oleo, and the school's Panzerfahren commander ("Captain") Trout. Maple High School is a school that was formed through the cooperation of Canada and Japan, which came about due to the two countries aiding each other in the fishing industry. This connection led Canada to begin teaching western values in Hokkaidō and vice versa, with the culmination of these joint efforts coming in the form of purchasing an unused school ship from the United Kingdom and the founding of Maple High School.

The students of Maple High School come with two costumes: their default Maple High School Uniform and the Ōarai Uniform.
TanksCauldron[]
All members of Team ONI use their customized Type 94 Tankettes by default, of which there are two different versions. One of these versions comes equipped with two Type 97 20mm anti-tank rifles and limits the tank to two crew members, while the other features a single Type 97mm anti-tank rifle that can be remote-controlled by the driver; the second version of the Type 94 Tankette is the only tank in the game that can be used by only a single character. The members of Maple High School instead use the Light Tank Mk VI by default, with each of the three members of the school acting as tank commanders of their own tanks. The vehicles used by other teams during the Cauldron Tournament that do not appear in the base game are also included within this content pack. The in-game listings for these tanks are as follows:
A17 Light Tank Mark VII "Tetrarch"
A17 Light Tank Mark VII "Tetrarch" with Littlejohn Adapter
A25 Light Tank Mark VIII "Harry Hopkins"
A5 Light Tank Mark VI
M22 Locust
T-60
T-70
T7 Combat Car
Type 94 Tankette (Super Upgraded)
Type 94 Tankette (Unmanned Turret)
Due to the rules of Tankathalon permitting only tanks weighing less than 10 tonnes, all of the above tanks are classified as either Light Tanks or Tankettes (part of "Other").
MapCauldron[]
The Cauldron Content Pack includes a new map for the player to battle on: Komoro. Upon being downloaded, this map can be played on in Free Mode as well as the likes of Tournament Mode where the maps of each battle are randomly selected.
Stages: |
Komoro is a city located in the Nagano Prefecture of Japan. The battle takes place within the streets of Komoro, though a large plains area with uneven terrain can also be accessed outside of the streets. The battlefield features both wide open areas and thin corridors that make it unique among the collection of other maps. A gas station is present in the city area that the player can destroy, detonating it to destroy any tanks within the vicinity. The location of Komoro served as the setting of the second round of the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, the 24-hour "Death Match of Komoro", due to the surrounding mountains essentially creating a bowl around the city. |
Extra MissionsCauldron[]
In addition to new content relating to Team ONI, the content pack also includes a handful of new Extra Missions. These Extra Missions adapt the events of the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, as depicted in Chapters 26 to 44 of Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior. There are 20 Extra Missions, with both the first and second rounds of the tournament adapted across ten Extra Missions each. Some of the first ten Extra Missions feature a new mechanic known as "Yojimbos": Yojimbos are assistants to the team that are not formal members of it, and are treated as pseudo-free agents. The player, should they have a Yojimbo, can order them around as if another member of their team, though the Yojimbo may ignore these orders; additionally they can be harmed by and harm members of any team. Even in Annihilation Matches however, Yojimbos do not need to be defeated to claim victory.

Koala Forest Content Pack[]
The Koala Forest Content Pack introduces a variety of content into the game based around the newly introduced Koala Forest High School. The DLC package includes two new characters, three tanks, a new map, several Extra Missions, and new content for Domination Mode.
CharactersKoala[]
The downloadable content pack includes three characters from Koala Forest High School, albeit only two of them are playable. The team's vice-commander, Wallaby, and her gunner, Platypus, both serve as new playable characters. In addition to these two, Koala Forest's "commander", a literal Koala, also clings to Wallaby in some of her sprites and on her 3D model.
Platypus |
Wallaby |
A unique trait among Platypus and Wallaby comes in the fact that they have two versions of the Panzerfahren uniform of Koala Forest High School: one version in which they wear hats and one where they do not; the former serves as their default costumes. In addition to wearing their uniforms, Platypus and Wallaby may also wear the Ōarai school uniform.
TanksKoala[]
The Koala Forest Content Pack introduces three new tanks into the game. Alongside a new American tank, the first tanks of Australian origin are also added into Dream Tank Match II. The in-game listings for these tanks are as follows:
File:Australia-flag-button-round-icon-256.png Australian Cruiser Tank Mk.I "Sentinel" aka AC.1 Sentinel
File:Australia-flag-button-round-icon-256.png Australian Cruiser Tank Mk.III "Thunderbolt" aka AC.3 Thunderbolt
Light Tank, M3 aka M3 Stuart
The M3 Stuart is classified as a Light Tank while the two Australian tanks are both classified as Medium Tanks.
MapKoala[]
Alongside new tanks and characters, the DLC package includes a new map for players to battle on. Upon being downloaded, this map can be played on in Free Mode as well as the likes of Tournament Mode where the maps of each battle are randomly selected.
Stages: |
During the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup, Koala Forest High School was pitted against Chi-Ha-Tan Academy in the Australian outback. The battlefield is mostly flat, with slight dips and hills dotting the landscape in places. A large rocky plateau breaks up the horizon that is impossible to climb onto. |
Extra MissionsKoala[]
Included within the Koala Forest Content Pack are 10 new Extra Missions that all see the player take control of the new characters included alongside them.

Maginot Additional Character Pack[]
The Maginot Additional Character Pack adds Madeleine as a playable character and two costumes for her in addition to her default Panzerfahren uniform.
Madeleine was the former commander of Maginot Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team. Madeleine's Panzerfahren team was well-known for their poor performances in matches, in part due to their defensive and immobile strategies that often led to their loss. Though Madeleine was aware of the flaws in the strategies she used, she believed that upholding Maginot's traditional fighting style was the only way to go about matches due to the tanks they possessed hindering a more-mobile combat style. She was challenged by Éclair for the position of commander, and left the Panzerfahren after being defeated by her underclassman's mobile "Saint-Cyr" combat style. Though she no longer participates in Panzerfahren, Madeleine endeavours to see the results of Éclair's changes to the team and continues to watch all of their matches; this includes both the official Panzerfahren matches Maginot participates in and the Tankathalon matches the school participated in during the Cauldron Tournament.

| |||||||||
Ange le Carré is a member of the Principal Spy Team for the Commonwealth of Albion, and an undercover student of Queen's Mayfaire School. Ange is a natural liar and actor, presenting herself to others as one who simply can't help but conceal the truth and thus can come off as a bit untrustworthy. However this is simply due to the nature of her past and the work she specializes in, and she tends to use these lies more to dodge questions about her history. Beneath this exterior is a kind girl who greatly respects the talents of others and holds her friends in high regard. Though Ange claims to hail from the "Black Lizard Planet", she is in actuality the true princess of the Kingdom of Albion, having needed to abandon this role during the London Revolution that separated London into two halves; she uses her real name, Charlotte, as her codename while working as a spy. Ange is also in possession of stolen Cavorite prototype, which allows her to decrease or increase the gravitational effects of herself and anything she touches.
| |||||||||
Default role: Gunner | |||||||||
Charlotte is the princess of the Kingdom of Albion and a member of the spy group known as Principal Team. Charlotte, also known by the codename "Princess", is a polite and friendly girl who is incredibly refined due to her noble status. To those who do not know her, Charlotte presents herself as an eternally calm girl who is seemingly perfect at everything she does; this latter fact is the result of hard work she never lets anyone see, however. Despite working as a spy to undermine the country she is set to rule, Charlotte does so with the intent of unifying the two fractured worlds and tear down the literal wall separating them. Charlotte lives a lie, as she and Ange le Carré accidentally switched identities during the London Revolution that split the city into two different countries, being mistaken for each other due to the swapping of their clothes and near-identical facial features. Due to her entire life being a lie, while she presents herself in an elegant and somewhat innocent manner, she is the greatest manipulator of any member of Principal Team.
| |||||||||
Default role: Tank commander
Daisy MacBean, primarily known by the alias Dorothy, is the leader of Principal Team. Despite being an undercover student of Queen's Mayfaire School, Dorothy is actually 20 years old, the eldest member of Principal Team; some of her allies believe her cover as a 16 year-old schoolgirl to be a 'stretch' considering her more-mature body. Dorothy is a playful girl with a generally upbeat demeanour, though goes into every mission with the utmost amount of seriousness. While also the leader of Principal Team, Dorothy also has a tendency to act as one of the group's main diversions, often charming men in order to allow her allies to get past them unseen or obtain information. While "Dorothy" acts as the codename of Daisy MacBean, it was actually the name of her mother who ran away from her family due to her husband's tendency to abuse her while drunk.
| |||||||||
Default role: Driver | |||||||||
Beatrice is a 15 year-old student of Queen's Mayfaire School who acts as the aide for Princess Charlotte. Beatrice is an exceptionally kind and innocent girl who is fairly courteous due to being the daughter of a prestigious noble. While she tries to be friendly, Beatrice has deep-seeded trust issues as a result of the fact that her father, a famous inventor, performed a variety of experiments on her. The most notable experiment that Beatrice was subjected is the replacement of her throat: Beatrice's throat is entirely mechanical, which allows her to completely mask her natural voice by imitating those of others. However while she can be slightly clumsy and anxious, Beatrice strives to become a brave member of her team in order to assist the princess and her newer friends. She is the most honest of Principal Team, believing that she has nothing to hide from her friends.
| |||||||||
Default role: Radio operator
Chise Tōdō is a spy for the Empire of Japan, who works alongside Principal Team on orders from her Lord Horikawa. A very strong and often quiet girl, Chise's most notable trait is her physical strength and numbness to violence. Chise initially travelled to the Kingdom of Albion alongside Lord Horikawa while he worked out a treaty between Japan and the royal family, serving as his bodyguard during this time. She was originally asked to work alongside Principal Team in order to protect Lord Horikawa from an assassin named Jubei, who is Chise's biological father despite her hatred for him and his actions. Ironically, as a result of her father's actions, Chise has no qualms about killing other humans, though she is still a kind and young girl at heart who is frequently confused by cultural differences between her country and those of the kingdom.
| |||||||||
Default role: Loader |
The Girls und Panzer × Princess Principal Character Pack also includes a number of music tracks remixed from the soundtrack of the Princess Principal anime, which can be played in any battle. Additionally, the pack includes a New Year's Costume for Miho Nishizumi, as well as the Queen Mayfaire's School Uniform costume for all five members of Ōarai's Anglerfish Team.

Box Arts[]
- Prior to the simple subtitle of "Dream Tank Match II" being decided, other proposed names were "Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match der Zweite" and "'Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match das Finale". Both of these names were discarded due to their length.
- Many elements of the game, including the ability to mix-and-match characters in order to allow the player to create their own dream teams, were inspired by a panel included as part of Chapter 44 of the Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior manga. In this panel, Darjeeling considers holding a second tournament dubbed "Tankathalon: The Big Battle!! Dream Tank Match EX" following the premature end of the Cauldron Tournament. The name of this tournament too is a reference to the Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match game originally released for the PlayStation 4.
Localization Notes[]
- ↑ The term "Sensha-dō" has been localized as both "Panzerfahren" and "Tankery", but is typically left untranslated as of the English release of Girls und Panzer der Film. As Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match referred to the sport as Panzerfahren, this article follows that decision.
- ↑ The name of Boko (ボコ) has been officially romanized as both "Boko" and "Boco". Sentai Filmworks also localized the bear's name as "Punchy" for Girls und Panzer der Film. Due to the lack of consistency between every English release (both official and not), this page opts to refer to him as "Boko" due to that being the correct romanization of his name and being most frequently-used in fan translations.
- ↑ Ōarai Girls' Academy gets it's name from the city of Ōarai, Ibaraki. While the name of the school is often spelled as "Oarai" (omitting the macron) in-universe and in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, English localizations tend to instead romanize the name as "Ooarai". In order to remain consistant with Dream Tank Match, this page refers to the school just as it wood the real-world location: as Ōarai.
- ↑ "Kuromorimine" translates from Japanese to "Black Forest Peak". The English release of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match translated the name Kuromorimine, whereas Sentai Filmworks and other official localizations tend to leave the school's name untranslated. In order to remain consistent with these localizations, this page refers to the school as "Kuromorimine". It should also be noted that some fan translated media also refers to the school by the German "Schwarzwaldspitze" or "Schwarzwaldgipfel", which is why the school's Tankathalon team is referred to as "Schwarzwald Kampfgruppe" on this page; no official English release exists for the Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior manga.
- ↑ The IS-2 tank is named for Joseph Stalin, the dictator of the Soviet Union who ruled during the Second World War. The IS tank family is based on the acronym of this dictator's name when anglicized from the native Russian "Ио́сиф Ста́лин". In many cases, Stalin's given name is anglicized as "Joseph", however there are cases where it is instead transliterated as "Iosif", which is closer to the native pronunciation of the name. Due to this, the IS-2 tank may also be called the JS-2, though it is referred to by the former name on this page due to that being the more-commonly used of the two.
